An Extralite stem (120mm -12°) came in at 89 grams, the Zipp SL Sprint came in at 168 grams. A total of 79 grams saved there! :)

I'm waiting for an Mcfk handlebar (176 grams), a lightweight PYC chain (231 grams) and some J&L titanium quick release skewers (36 grams). Then the bike will weigh 6600 grams!

Thanks! - I like how there is a space (although tiny) between the steerer tube and the handlebar drops when viewed from the side. :)

I decided to go a bit more extreme with the weight saving and have started to remove the paintjob on the frame;

I'm about 4 hrs in to what I expect to be a 20 hr job.

Seems like you should probably dismantle the bike at this point to do the paint stripping properly...

I don't know if vinyl decals would look very good or last very long. I think I'll paint something on using water based acrylic paint (I can always scrape it off if I get tired of it).

Some J&L titanium skewers coming in at 38 grams saved 33 grams over the Zipps;

I used 303 Aerospace Protectant as suggested by member jorisee01;

It gave the frame a clean glossy finish which looks great!;

Here's a quick update on the project.

The bike has now recieved some skeletonized shifters from fellow WW-member 4ibanez's old build. The modifications of the shifters saved around 30 grams;

Also some Lightweight Standard Gen 2 tubulars has been fitted saving a couple of hundred grams. The wheels weigh significantly more than they ought to so I believe there is a lot of old sealant in the tubes;

Currently it weighs in at roughly 6,2 kgs.

Looks great!
What sort of tyre clearance are you getting on this frame?
I see you’re running tubulars so are those 25mm? And how much space to the frame?
I seem to think 23mm is the max but hope I’m wrong, seen one on eBay in my size!
