I saved some weight with these 18 gram hoods made from heatshrink tube!
Looks great!!Lucendi wrote:Some J&L titanium skewers coming in at 38 grams saved 33 grams over the Zipps;
I used 303 Aerospace Protectant as suggested by member jorisee01;
It gave the frame a clean glossy finish which looks great!;

I upgraded my knock off Jagwire brake and shifter cable housings that I got from eBay to Niro-Glide housings.
Here is a comparison on the brake cable housings (cut to identical lenghts) at almost half the weight;
I also got rid of the inline Jagwire cable adjusters. The front derailleur is easy enough to adjust by loosening the cable fastening screw on the front derailleur and moving the shifter cable, and the rear derailleur already has an adjuster of it's own.
I managed to save 60,3 grams in total!! 53,1 grams on the housings, 1,5 grams on some lighter ferrules and 5,7 grams by removing the inline adjusters.
At about 50€ for the cable sets, this was a cost effecvtive weight saving at 0,82€/gram.
Now at 5570 grams!!

Got a new saddle for the R3, a ridiculously light Gelu K-1 at only 52 grams!!
I got the new Gelu K-1 saddle installed and have started using it on the trainer, so far so good!
I installed a 3D-printed headset dust cover (saving about 10 grams!);
Some ultralight 3D-printed bar end plugs (1,8 grams for the pair!);
And the cockpit got a refresh with some stealth black MCFK decals, and an Alpitude Stelvio (small) computer mount;
The current state of the bike;

I decided to get rid of the nude carbon look and paint the frameset. Using some 2K polyurethane clearcoat in high gloss I applied several thin coats with a sponge;
The entire paintjob only added 5-10 grams and made the entire frame look great.
I took the opportunity to put some new rivnuts on for the bottle cages. I filed away the top of the old rivnuts and pushed them inwards into the frame to remove them;
When removing the seatpost I discovered that the MCFK-seatpost had cracked and was destroyed. So in the garbage bin it goes.

Thanks! I have two bikes and I ride this Cervélo more and I find the power meter to be a useful work out aid. I sold the Clavicula M3 crankset (325g) and soon after bought an SE crank (297g), but the new crank went on my other bike. Sometimes it is nice not to see your power numbers and just focus on your surroundings.
The rivnuts are just like expanding rivets, they expand when compressed.
There are tools to compress them, but I got away with just using an M6 screw and some washers. After this operation the threads were slightly damaged so I re-tapped them.
I didn't prepare the rivnuts by hardening the surface or epoxy them in (as you should), but I bought 100 of them and it's easy to change them when they start to look awful again.
I replaced the broken MCFK seatpost with an Elita One after some modifications.
It is the same weight (+ 0,4 g) and only cost me 30€.
I reinforced the top by epoxying a carbon fiber tube insert to the inside to increase the wall thickness.
I applied a thin layer of 2K clearcoat, so thin the scale couldn't measure it (+ 0,0 g). :p
