Hello everyone,

I am new to this to this website, I am on
Here for help.
I have a 54 2018 cervelo s3 weighing roughly 7.8kg, I would love to get it to around 6.8 if possible but I am struggling to see where I can lose around 1kg. Spec is as followed
54 cervelo s3 frame/seatpost,
Prologo zero nack saddle
110m deda superleggra stem
42cm bars
(unbranded come of Halfords 13 gamma bike)
Dura ace 9000 crankset (stages 105 power meter left hand crank only)
Dura ace 9000 brakes
Ultegra 6800 front/rear derailleur
Cassette new ultegra 11-28
Giant slr 30mm carbon wheels
Planet X titanium quick releases
Sworks tyres,
Inner tubes continential supersonic.
Speed play zero titanium pedals

It’s also worth mentioning that In order to run a shimano Crankset my local bike shop installed a adaptor to allow for this.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

Welcome to the forum, Tom! :welcome: There's a general advise for everyone starting to lose weight on the bike: decide the budget, make a spreadsheet of current part weights, research available options, replace parts following the best gram/price ratio. This spreadsheet might help with the research part. Other components you might want to consider: R9100 front/rear derailleurs, SRAM Red cassette, PYC SP1101 chain, eeBrakes. Maybe a different wheelset too, your Giants are listed as 1380g and lighter options are certainly available (Caden are good value), but you might also want deeper rims, which would offset the gains.

Have a look at the threads in my signature. I had my S5 down to 6.65kg with deep wheels and a PM.

As a guess, unbranded bars from a Halfords bike might not be the lightest.

Also do you need 42cm wide or could you go narrower?

You might also say how much you want to spend as that will have a bearing on people's suggestions.

Hello everyone, I've shifted my focus from my s3 to building a hill climb bike, hopefully we will get a hill climb season this year fingers crossed. I thought I would ask if I have missed any opportunities to make the bike lighter the only items I'm now thinking to purchase are c bear jockey wheels and c bear press fit bottom bracket My hill climb bike spec is a followed:

2014 supersix evo high mod
Sella Italia c59 saddle
Mcfk stem,bars, seatpost
Sram red etap 11 speed
(single ring set up - no front derailuer)
Rotor uno cassette 11-28
Cannondale si cranks
Kmc sl chain 11 speed
Wolf tooth 38 teeth
Time expresso 15 pedals
Lizard skin 1.8mm bar tape
Giant slr 30mm wheels..

I plan to change the wheels to fse Carbon clincher 995g wheels later on this year..

Thanks for your help. Tom
