Just thought I would share my 5.46kg bike build. I recently bought a Focus Izalco Max frameset and took most of the parts from my 2013 Specialized Roubaix SL3 (56cm) which already had a lot of lighter upgrades to build the Focus. Some photographs below and a list of components. As most of the parts were taken from my Roubaix (due to budget constraints) there is still scope to make the bike lighter when it comes to change things like the cassette and chain rings. Pretty happy with how it turned out and it approximately 1kg lighter than my Roubaix, 90cm lower stack height and feels significantly stiffer. Thanks for all the contributors to this forum where I’ve been lurking for a while and using all the information to pull this bike together.
Frameset: Focus Izalco Max 2.0 54cm (755g frame + 296g fork).
Seatpost: Hylix Carbon cut to 340mm, with alloy bolt upgrade (110g)
Saddle: TOSEEK 3k carbon with carbon rails (90g). Custom shaping of rear, nose removal and central channel, decals removed by wet sanding and polished to finish. Seatpost and seat together weigh a combined 200g.
Seat post clamp: Mt Zoom Ultralight with titanium bolt upgrade (6g).
Drop bars: Specialized S-Works Shallow Bend 38cm with 20mm of drop bar removed (170g).
Stem: UNO 7 31.8mm x 100mm -17 with M5 16mm titanium bolt upgrade (96g).
Headset bearing assembly: Cane Creek Slamset Premium IS42 28.6mm Headset Top Assembly Black. (Upper bearing 19.96g; Riser 5.06g; Cap 2.02g; Bolt 3.44g). I didn't weigh the lower bearing.
Headset expander plug: Mt Zoom Ultralight (10.6g).
Bar tape: Ice hockey stick tape.
Crankset: Specialized Fact Carbon Monocoque with 30mm spindle (395g).
Chainrings: TA Specialites Syrius 11 110 BCD (50T 78.84g, 34T 32.54g).
Chainring bolts: Litepro alloy (5 x 1.7g = 8.5g).
Pedals: Time Xpresso 12 Titanium / Carbon with hybrid ceramic bearing upgrade (2 x 79.96g).
Bottom bracket: FSA PF30 (66.2g).
Bottom bracket grease: Finish Line Extreme Fluoro Grease.
Brake callipers: Planet X Ultra Light CNC with SwissStop pads (205g), alloy bolts, M4 nylon retaining grubscrews (4 x 0.16g) and nylon outside spacer / washer.
Brake cables: Jagwire Road Elite Link (links under bar tape to shifters). External routing.
Shift cables: Jagwire Road Elite Sealed in Frozen Black. External routing.
Cable crimps tips: Alloy, glued, not crimped for aesthetic reasons (4 x 0.14g).
Bottle cage: Lightweight full carbon (2 x 17.7g).
Bottle cage bolts: M5 15mm nylon (4 x 0.3g).
Shifters: SRAM Red 10 speed with drilled shifter clamps and alloy bolt upgrade (2 x 167g + shifter clamp 2 x 8.46g + bolt 1.54g + hood 24.5g).
Rear derailleur: SRAM Red 10 speed with alloy bolt upgrade (143g).
Front derailleur: SRAM Red 10 speed with alloy bolt upgrade (76g).
Cassette: Recon Harry RS10Ti-11-27T Gold (141g).
Front wheel: Stans NoTubes Alpha 340 (24 drillings), American Classic 58 hub, Sapim CX Ray J-Bend black bladed spokes in two cross lace pattern and Sapim Polyax 14mm black alloy nipples (536.2g).
Front tyre: Michelin Power Competition 23mm (195g).
Rear Wheel: Stans NoTubes Alpha 340 (28 drillings), American Classic 205 hub, Sapim CX Ray J-Bend black bladed spokes in three cross lace pattern and Sapim Polyax 14mm black alloy nipples (701.9g).
Rear tyre: Michelin Power Competition 25m (205g).
Inner tubes: Vredestein latex (2 x 60g).
Rim tape: Stans NoTubes 21mm, one layer (2 x 5g).
Front skewer: LifeLine Professional Carbon/Titanium Quick Release (19.8g).
Rear skewer: LifeLine Professional Carbon/Titanium Quick Release (22.06g).
Jockey Wheels: KCNC Ultra Light Jockey Wheel, 11T (15.4g).
Chain: KMC X10 SL Gold 10 Speed 53 links inclding quicklink (230g).
Chain lubricant: Rock "N" Roll Gold.
Race plate number holder: Custom made aluminium (3g).
Cleats: Time Xpresso (35.66g)
Cleat bolts: Titanium (6 x 1.22g from 2.34g) + thinner steel washer (2 x 2.16g from 4.0g).
Shoes: Giro Prolight Racetech (2 x 103g)

Nice bike and and photos, welcome to WW! Amazing how you can build a 5.5kg rim brake bike without any exotic components, compared to what effort it takes to do the same with disc bike.

I missed the memo about the Izalco Max until very recently, and started by looking at a SystemSix High Mod, Tarmac SL5 or Emonda as a base, but when I read more about the Focus then saw this frame The frame was second hand and cost me $1,500 AUD. Almost everything else was stripped from my trusty Roubaix.

Seriously, though, this is a really great looking bike and impressively lightweight. Very well done!
Is the license plate holder just for show off or do you race on this bike so much below the UCI limit?

I ripped the race plate holder from my previous bike. I often race under UCI rules so would definitely have to make a few tweaks here and there

do you have a weight on the bare frame?
edit: this has external cable routing!!! what is the "2.0" designation?
the updated IzMax for 2019 does not look like this frame
was there an "inbetween" stage ?

I added some weights above for you, 755g frame + 296g fork with cut steerer. I added some weights above, I was a bit lazy writing it all down when I was building it. Mostly took written notes which are now in the bin and a few photos.
Yeah I do plan on a few more things - I've just bought TA Specialites Syrius 11 110 BCD 50 / 34 which will save a little bit of weight, but this was needed becasue my current rings have about 20,000km on them. I've also bought a Time Xpresso ceramic bearing upgrade kit, I'll change the cassette to something lighter, maybe Recon, when needed and I have a few more bolts and grubscrews in the post. Hoping I can get it down to 5.49kg, but I don't think I'll be able to go much lower without spending a lot more money
