I agree with the above. I had it about 2.7g per cm

I chopped the excess of my V2-R post, it worked out at fraction more but it was painted (white). Its a no-brainer weight saving, just measure twice, cut once!

How's the tyre clearance? I see that you've got 25's on, but how wide do you think you can go? Would be great if you could take a couple of pictures.

Currently have access to a good deal but want to ride at least 28's
Hi there, yup you're right, I'm on 25s on a rather narrow and cheap alu fulcrum racing 4dbs and there is quite a lot of room between the tires, chain stays, seat stays and forks.

I believe 28s should be fine, i read somewhere some time ago.

[Anyway wanted a break from my finals revisions, so time to add an update here]

1658.4 km later, all is working well, as for WW updates from the last post,

Have swapped to (sorry, I didn't weigh them):
1. Continental Race 28 tubes (60mm valves)
2. ES-600 SPD pedals (lightest Shimano SPD pedals, apparently)
3. Uno 80mm 7° stem
4. Fourier 42t narrow wide chain ring

my scultura is finally <8kg (7.95kg)
still super heavy for a XXS bike

will (hopefully) swap out my fulcrums for Light Bicycle 36mm deep x 28mm wide wheels (as I am 48kg and am worried about side gusts).
WhatsApp Image 2019-11-19 at 23.36.15.jpeg
Also another random purchase is my new size 39 Shimano XC501 (627g) from my size 40 Shimano RT82 (718g), saving me 91g :D

Thanks heaps. It looks tighter than I'd like, so I'll have to think about it.

I'm keen to see what the lightbicycle wheels look like when you get them. I was hoping to get the AR56's, but at 30mm rim width I'm not sure they'll fit, let alone a tyre mounted to that rim.

Will do friend, waiting for my year end bonus and for Light Bicycle to release a U-shape 35mm or 36mm wheels that are >28mm wide.

Well. After a few months of riding, I finally had a small windfall so I made a few new purchases.

Swapped out my stem to a UNO 90mm Stem, topcap for a RISK (dangerous name) carbon top cap and best of all, got a new FSA SL-K Compact drop bar for USD100.

Lost about 100g in total.

Still waiting on a bigger windfall for the wheels.

Right so in an attempt to swap out the annoying quick joint thing on the hydraulic hoses, I destroyed my front caliper (forgot to put in a bleed block).

Silver lining being that I got an excuse to "upgrade" to a pair of ultegra calipers, not realising that they are the same weight but they were the only ones my LBS stocked.

Also, being home for so long, my delivery of my pair of GP5000 25mm arrived, along with the new MT900 rotors (140mm).

Just a minor update today.

Custom gold decals for the Fulcrum Racing 4D to match the detailing on the frame.

Wondering if I should get the direct mount hanger from Sigeyi for the looks but the colours on offer dont seem to match my frame.

So finally, after 2 weeks, my black Sigeyi Direct Mount hanger arrived.
WhatsApp Image 2020-08-28 at 14.24.24.jpeg
Attaching it wasn't too much of an issue other than the existing hanger bolt being a little stripped, not sure why, I have never touched it before?

It did require me to tighten my B-Screw slightly as the guide pulley was interferring with the largest cassette sprocket. This could be due to any of the following reason.

1. 30 teeth casette
2. 13 teeth jockey wheel
3. 1x build

But all in all it wasn't too much of an issue and I saved 16g. woohoo.

Will test it out and update if it explodes.

I was going past a bike shop which had a sale on KMC X11SL chains so I took the initiative to get a new set of Gold/Black chain.
WhatsApp Image 2020-08-31 at 19.38.27 (4).jpeg
In the process of swapping the chain over, I realised that I have commited the sacrilegous act of gaining 1g.
WhatsApp Image 2020-08-31 at 19.38.27 (3).jpeg
WhatsApp Image 2020-08-31 at 19.38.27 (2).jpeg
I think the black and gold chain matches my bike very well but seems to be a lil noiser than the old chain, perhaps it'll take time to wear in.
WhatsApp Image 2020-08-31 at 19.38.27 (1).jpeg
In other news, I think the previous KMC X11SL chain I got may have been a imitation as it came in a unmarked plastic bag and was slightly rusty even before i took it out. Seems like the machining on each plate is not as extensive as the genuine chain I got directly from a dealer. Maybe that explains the rust?

Another post, another set of "upgrades".

First thing first. My "new", 600km ish old, KMC X11SL gold black chain seemed to have been infected by my rusty CS7000 cassette which got rusty from the imitation KMC X11SL chain.

So giving up, I got a new CS8000, 11-30, cassette and a HG901 chain.

WhatsApp Image 2020-12-06 at 22.06.33.jpeg
For the cassette, I lost 22g (291g to 269g) and gained 14g (220g to 234g) for the chain.

Bigger news though is my new Light Bicycle AR46 Flyweight wheels.
Satin Finish, DT240 hubs, CX Ray spokes, no spoke holes.
I got them as flyweights as my total rolling weight (person+bike) is 55kg, so not much worries with durablity.

Running them with my existing GP5000 25mm non-tubeless tires with Continental Race 28 with 60mm valves.
Planning to swap them out with Continental Race 28 Light and tubeless eventually.

From my old Fulcrum Racing 4db (F- 817g, R-924g, T-1741g), to my new AR46 Flyweight (F-630g, R-731g,T-1361g),
I lost 380g.

First ride on wheels in, for me, high winds (15-20km/h steady and 35km/h gusts), I was pleasantly surprised by not being blown around by the wind whilst cycling beside an airbase runwawy. It was more of a gentle nudge the entire ride.
WhatsApp Image 2020-12-06 at 22.05.25.jpeg
Total weight lost, 388g, bringing the current bike weight to 7.45kg.
Still more to be lost, perhaps a new next gen groupset and powermeter, but given that the cost of the bike as it stands is 3.5K USD, I'm pretty satistfied.

Just a small 6000km update:

I have XTR M9100 chain that I laid over my 1x chain ring and they seem to mate well.
Will mount it once my current chain is worn out or rusty (probably another year or so)?

Also I found these rather well mated bolt nuts for the R7000 crankset. Shimano only makes them for the R8000 sub compact crank set as far as i know and the profile is different from the R7000.

Just another small update today,

my elite cannibal cage was falling apart, the bolt holes were getting a lil too worn, hence the elite T-Race.
Wanted to get the leggero but it was way out of my price range.

a total weight saving of 20g too.

Hey all, after 6.5K km, I felt that it is time to replace my Pro Stealth Carbon saddle with the Pro Stealth Team Saddle.

Saddle weight dropped from 173g to 156g (17g).

Finish on the Team saddle doesnt seem to be as good as the Stealth Carbon, can see some injection fill lines.
The go pro mount doesn't fit as there is a 2-3mm gap once fully screwed in.

Will update on comfort once ridden.
