I’ve read about people’s experiences with getting flats due to thorns and assumed they were like rose thorns

Godzuki, my advice for tubeless tape is tuo use HEAT RESISTANT TAPE.
It's very very thin so you need to overlap a couple of time the wheel. If I remember well, I did 2+1/2 turn
The adhesive power is good and the weight is excellent.
The cost is less than 5$

there is a nice story behind this cone connected with Giro d'Italia.
In the early stages in south Sardinia the peloton suffred a lot of puncture and everybody was thinking about a sabotage. Later, analyzing the punctured tubulars, they understand the real reason of puncture: the wind carried a lot of cone in the road

I’m going to use the 3M Nuclear tape because it’s fancy and I like to be fancy. I should get it this weekend hopefully. The tires I ordered from R2Bike. I ended up getting Rocket Rons in 2.25 size. I also got some Racing Ray’s and Racing Ralph’s. I thought it would be cool to mix and match the front and the rear tires. For the first run, I will probably just go Rocket Ron for both front and back.

Since I’m trying something different with the rim tape, I thought I would use something other than Stan’s fluid. I ordered some effetto mariposa fluid. I remember hearing that it foams up and you don’t need to use as much as Stan’s. Has anybody tried this stuff?

The mariposa stuff works well. It's one of the only sealants that are approved for latex tubes so you see a lot of people putting it in tubulars.

I use this and it works great. It foams when put in the tubular and has been good to me in relation to filling punctures.

How much additional weight does it add to your tubular?

Haven’t used this one, but I’ve always gone by a fraction under 1 to 1.
So 30ml of sealant will add roughly 25g.

effetto Mariposa works well but I use the cheaper

It's very foamy and works well for 6months without leaking
I use 60ml in 2.2tire

without ammonia!!!

I only use it when punctured. And I only ad 25 to 30ml

Caffeelatex is shite IMHO.

It never managed to seal any of my punctures without a worm. Gone back to standard Orange Seal now. May work better at lower PSI. My 38c are around 45PSI.

Carbon fiber rotors have been quite a failure for mountain bikes. But what about Graphene? I like the weight but will it be quiet and have the necessary stopping power for mountain bike applications? I am already past the “show bike” build stage and putting more heavier/durable parts on this build. So this Graphene Rotor is probably not going to happen 🙅‍♂️

Ah just get them, trial them, then switch back if you have too.

Not a real rotor that is usable in any way. :(

Here are the weights of the Rocket Ron’s that I will run tubeless. This will be a 346 gram weight increase over the Maxxlite’s. Now I have some more realistic tires.
