Will the chainring teeth hit the chainstay under torque? Please help me!
Use the outer position - it's bloody obvious that you have to. The drivetrain will work fine, it's clear that the frame was built for the chainring to be further outboard!

Chainline is very important with sram eagle, 2 mm to much and you wont be able to backpedal on the larger cogs.
Another good reason to not use SRAM

@Tonytourist - I did send him a PM a couple months ago and he replied back saying he is not making them any more. I will try again.

My neighbor told me to buy 2 chains and alternate them so that it saves the chainring and cassette wear. Has anyone heard of SUMC? They have DLC coated chains that are very similar to KMC. I have a feeling these chains are produced from the same factory. Anyways, they offer a rainbow chain too. And the weight is lighter with the extra DLC coating. You can see that the chain links are hollow while the SRAM links are solid. Below are weight comparisons for 126 links.

@BmanX - Oh no! I can’t spend any more. Should I? I shouldn’t. But so cool so I should. But I can’t. But I should. That is my brain right now. Thanks a lot!

@Scant - Thanks for the link. I still cannot get myself to believe that this wireless setup is lighter. It is so freaking heavy when I hold that derailleur in my hand. It is much easier to Dremel and tune a mechanical derailleur but I don’t see a lot of opportunity to shave grams off this AXS set up.

With some help with the Hopp AXS controller body + Aluminum pin there was very good weight saving. Unfortunately, Hopp released an SL version of the controller body that is an amazing 2 grams lighter than the first generation one I have. I also have the Hopp derailleur cage 2.0 which is insanely light. I did add about a half gram to it by painting the inside rainbow neochrome like the battery. As far as other tuning goes, all I did was debadge the XX1 logo on the clutch cover. I also sanded the main derailleur cage to bare carbon to match the bike more. I am not going to take the derailleur apart any further and Dremel the parallelogram body parts as I don’t want to make this thing too fragile. A generic upgrade that everyone has done are the Extralite pulleys. This actually saved quite a bit of weight. I cannot use the neochrome derailleur bolts because the AXS only accepts a flat head bolt. It is also lighter than the hollow bolts I wanted to upgrade the set up with.

You need that crank and can sell the other one. Might give you a better chain line as well.

What size pulleys. I went with some 12/16 on my 1x build and love it.

These Extralite only come in the 12T x 14T. There are some after market oversize pulley systems for Eagle AXS that are interesting. But I think it would add some beefiness to the weight. I also don’t like that the Ceramicspeed is overpriced, the Ridea has gold accents, and the KCNC is aluminum only.
