RE-Focusing

Back in October I picked up a Focus Izalco Max. Unfortunately, it turns out the fork as it was cut was a bit too short for me. I was looking for a replacement when I realized it would cost (about) the same amount for me to buy an entirely new frameset (with the US "dump" going on) as it would to buy a replacement fork. I'm figuring after I sell the frame I had been using it'll end up at about the same cost as buying a new aftermarket fork. Frame weight is about 740-750 g. I need a something better than the crap hanging scale I have -couldn't get a pic. Now I just needs to move everything over to this frameset and I'm good to go. Another plus for this one is it's for electronic instead of mechanical groups, so no more cable stops.

Man this frameset is so underrated. I actually prefer to climb with the Izalco than my newly build Specialissima.
Is this the frame you were referring too? Looks like lots of fork left to me..
Is this a 54cm? Asking for a friend.

Finally got out for a 50 mile ride on it today. It was worth it. I need to adjust the bars a bit but I was able to ride on the hoods without any discomfort and stay on them for the majority of the ride. I guess as I'm getting older my body is falling apart and this is how the bike needs to be set up if I'm going to do long rides.

That’s a lot of spacers plus a + stem, have you considered an endurance frame or maybe something like an Edmonda with H2 geometry?
nope. eventually I'll get a custom frame or it's possible they'll figure out what's up with my wrist. This is fine for now.tonytourist wrote: ↑Sat Feb 23, 2019 10:47 pmThat’s a lot of spacers plus a + stem, have you considered an endurance frame or maybe something like an Edmonda with H2 geometry?

Huh, steerer height doesn't seem too different from the frame I sold you?
20.25 on yours vs 22.5 (actually a little less) on this one.dudemanppl wrote: ↑Sat Feb 23, 2019 11:16 pmHuh, steerer height doesn't seem too different from the frame I sold you?
After selling the frame and a stem that was too long, I'll end up paying about what I would have for an aftermarket fork. This way I get a brand new frameset, no more cable stops and I know I'll have the same ride and handling.

i wish speedy recovery. bike looks very well, especially the wheelset. it`s the kind of wheelset which is imo perfect for the izalco. may i ask, which wheelset is it? looks like FSA Vision TC24, but i am probably wrong.
Thanks - letters were close (but not really). The wheels are FSE rims (25's) laced to carbon-ti hubs (cx-ray spokes).reedplayer wrote: ↑Tue Feb 26, 2019 11:50 pmi wish speedy recovery. bike looks very well, especially the wheelset. it`s the kind of wheelset which is imo perfect for the izalco. may i ask, which wheelset is it? looks like FSA Vision TC24, but i am probably wrong.
Diagnosis on the wrist is pronator syndrome - 10 days on NSAIDS (OTC) and PT starts next week.
