That externally routed rear brake cable is an interesting design decision. I'm guessing it was to save weight and it probably won't have a large aerodynamic impact, but it does look out of place to me given that all new frames now have that cable routed internally.

This frame was developped I think 5-6 years ago.
Back then internal cablerouting was not so common as today.
The external cablerouting was also very welcomed by the AG2R pro teammechanics.

How are those Schmolke wheels? Stifness? Braking?

I just got a 2017-2018 Focus Izalco max (White), and my frame was 833g in M.

All built up, it's sitting at 5.5kg on the dot, but I'm going to change a few things to get it around 5.3kg. If my frame was 770g, I'd be well below 5.3kg.

Still looking for a light 120mm stem.
Considering the Extralight stem, but i hear the bars slip... even torqued higher then spec....
Altarnatives?

This is not my experience. With even regular torque. Just use carbon paste!

Great looking bike btw. I was surprised they routed the brake on the outside too. I had a Felt F FRD few years ago that I LOVED but ultimately the external brake made me sell it lol. Stupid I know but couldn't help being bothered by it.

I've been running Extralite stems on all of my bikes (Hyperstem aka newer).
Not a single issue with flex or slippage.

To make a bike lighter, manufactures use external brake routing. Firefly made my #419 with External Brake mounts, Internal Shifting as those give the lightest options. To run brake internally, you have to reinforce which adds weight.

I'm still adjusting the build and doing shakedown rides.. Here are a few pics I just snapped.. Rides like a dream so far. Exceeded all of my expectations of a carbon frame and the price I got it at!

My FSA SL top bearing wouldn't work for some reason with the Slam the stem cap. I put the stock top bearing back in and it's fine. Weird...

Changing the following:
-Lighter cables (ilink shifting / Jagwire elite braking) - (Current Stock Campy cables)
-LIghter bars (New ultimate Evo / Schmolke TLO) - (Current Deda Campione)
-Parlee FD clamp (Current Shimano heavy clamp)
-Bdop 11-28 cassette (Current SRAM XG1190 11-26)

white paintjobs are among the heaviest, because they demand several layers of paint.

for your info: there is although a focus-gallery, its a pity, that all those nice focus bikes are not exhibited there!

Same for mine! I really struggled and blamed the handlebar and stem first. But now with a different dust cap and the old upper bearing it is pretty stable.

Looking closely at the two bearings there is a really small difference. In a weird way good to hear I am not alone to experience that, and I consider my problem solved now.

What is the braking performance and the stifness of those Schmolke wheels?
In comparicon with others their clincher wheelsets seem so light
