Long time lurker, first time poster.

Moved to the USA from Australia a few years ago and sold my Trek Madone. Have been keen to get back into cycling after a few years off.

Just took the splurge and purchased the below bike, should arrive next week.

2017 BMC SLR01 61cm
Dura ace 9100 Di2
DT SWISS Carbon RCC65
175mm crankset with 52/36 chainrings

Will get a little into the weightweenie side of things, however the main focus is putting some miles on this rig.

Image

I living in LA and keen to get exploring the hills/roads in the neighboring areas.
Also need to purchase a SeaSucker to get this thing mounted onto the car, pictures to follow.

Looking forward to contributing to this forum.

Felix

This looks like a beast (in a good way).

Obvious first step is new bar tape, maybe a change of brake cable housing while you're at it?

For their cost, why not just get a DIY hitch kit on eBay or amazon and a hitch mounted rack? You’ll break even in cost and can carry more bikes in the future, not to mention make it easier and simpler to
Load/unload. I would have recommended simply a bar to just add to your roof top system in the picture, but given you park in your garage is like begging to forget one day that it is on the roof as you drive in!!

I drive a vintage porsche, SeaSucker looks to be the best option.

Bike has arrived, looking for a good torque wrench to assemble it.

Any recommendations?

Looks very nice.

Usually I'm allergic to 58+ frame sizes but this looks good. Maybe it's the fairly traditional geometry. As mentioned by others I would suggest changing the bar tape to black as well as the cable housing.

As for the torque wrench I'm using a PRO torque wrench. Haven't tried others but I'm happy with it and it's not too expensive. I think there are two models. I have the one that goes from 2-15 Nm.

I agree 100%, i've always struggled with finding an aesthetically pleasing bike that my size. When this came up for sale I had to jump on it.
