Any second thoughts about sanding off grip areas? After some considration, I decided against that on my Ergonovas and only went for regular paint. My new Darimo handlebar doesn't have those though, so it might not really matter with a scoop of CF grip paste.
I dont think it will make much differance either wayKlaster_1 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 13, 2019 6:58 amAny second thoughts about sanding off grip areas? Just swap the brake pad holders with kcnc ones. Campy dual/single brakes with those pad holders weigh around 233g and the Campy brakes have arguably the best brake feel, even over 9100. Planet X brakes are fine but not quite in the same league as the rest of the spec on your build.
Spot on. There's weight, and then there's bikes like this where its about the feel and experience. I've used those brakes and they work, but they're not a luxury performance item like DA, Campy SR, THM etc. I'm currently building an Ottrott (similar ti carbon mix but older and therefore heavier) with ee's simply because I had them-if I hadn't I would have likely gone with SR.RyanH wrote: ↑Tue Jan 15, 2019 12:54 amJust swap the brake pad holders with kcnc ones. Some of you may not understand but one thing I dont like about this frame is the 31.6 seat tube with the 27.2 seat post, it just looks off to me. It would look much better if they cotinued the flow of the 31.6 seat tube with a 31.6 seat post.
So thats what I did, I added a 31.6 seat post by sliding it over the top of a peice of a 27.2 seat post tube.
It looks better in my mind but I still need to ride it and see how it feels.

duuuuude...
Even on a forum where everything is vain, that may take the cake. The 31.6 post is just sitting atop the clamp? You're going to get a TON of vibration coming through to the saddle.
The 27.2 you had installed looks absolutely fine.
