Updates:

ASSIOMAS
Found a great deal on the Assiomas and finally pulled the trigger. 50g penalty at the pedals but benefits in so many other places. We'll see how well it works moving between bikes.

HYDRO vs. SPYRE
I made a stop at my most trusted LBS for some tips on hydro install and to buy the tools I need. I trust this mechanic a lot and he certainly scared me a bit how much technique is involved in getting the hydro setup to work correctly. Also while I was there I felt a set of Spyres that he had set up on a customer's Moots. I've run spyres many times in the past and always used linear housing but good god these things felt amazing. Is it possible I'm not that good at working on my bike???? Yes, yes it is. I got a good deal on the R8020 levers and R8070 brakes so I'm just going to sell them and go for the spyres.

groupset choice
With hydro out of the picture the world is my oyster for groups. I'm hoping to score a deal on some used sram 22 stuff but if not I've got R8000 levers and derailleurs ready to go.
Where did you find Assioma's, good second hand deal or good new deal?

407g for $75 . I'm thinking of sending and clear coating the arms as they are a bit ugly and beat up.Image

i am not the biggest fan of the cayo, but this one looks really cool.

if you sand the crank it should look like new.

Dang took a while but had to go sram 2x11 and finding the parts was tough. 7.068 as pictured add 300g for favero assiomas. Unfortunately the weather outside is weather so no ride reports yet.Image

Some small parts arrived today.

TRP Spyre C: these are a bit porky but were super cheap new take offs. I still need mounting hardware.

331g

Tesa 51608: about 3 grams per meter. I kind of hate bar tape I just need something to not slip off so this is perfect.

69g

Uno7 120 -17: literally 90seconds with Acetone to remove the awful graphics

121g

So funny coming across this post as I am/was doing the exact same thing. A secondary do it all bike that is also very capable. In fact I bought the exact same frame and was wanting to do the Juin Tech F1 brakes as well. Unfortunately I sold my spare etap and purchased a new etap hydro (kind of wish I went the other route for the smaller shifters and lighter weight). I used a lot of spare parts that i already had. Nothing extremely lightweight but respectable and quality parts that builds the bike right to 16lbs even (7.25kg).

Cayo small frame 52cm (measures similar to my Wilier 54cm
Enve 38cm aero bar
Enve 100mm stem
Enve Wahoo mount
Enve seatpost
C-Bear BB
Sram Etap Hydro
Sram BB30 cranks 172.5
Red 11-32 cassette
Red 22 Chain
Ceramicspeed OSPW
Selle Italia SLR Karbonio
Mavic Cosmic Elite SL running Tubeless 26mm Specialized tires
Sram Centerline Rotors 160/140
Supacaz bar tape
Cheap Chinese Carbon cages
Garmin Vector 3

I really want to remove the RAT axles. Considering either the Robert Axle Project ones or ones off Amazon. Any recommendations or user experience with the cheaper and lighter Amazon alternatives?

I used the Robert Axle on my Izalco disc
Saved about 25g per wheel, I'll double check and post photos of the weights
Robert Axle were well made and I had no problems swapping between wheel sets
Just needed to remember to carry an Allen key

I quite liked the RAT they seemed very functional
But the front one became difficult to alter when I changed wheels
Couldn’t find anywhere to get new RATs so swapped

Robert Axle looked far neater

And we’re easy to fit

Never used the Amazon ones

Looks a lot cleaner in addition to the weight savings. Thanks. The amazon/ebay brand is made by a company called Hardlite. Weight is lower/better than the Robert Axle Ones.

I swapped out the RAT axles to the Robert Axle ones and only saved about 20 grams total. Complete build of bike is now 7.4kgs with pedals, cages, computer mount. Does anyone know what the max tire clearance might be for this frame? Would be great if this can do double duties as a light gravel bike....

check the first page, I went through some tire clearance stuff, i think around 30mm of measured tire is the limit. I kind of regret selling this thing / not buying the right size =(
