Focus Izalco Max - Swiss Style

Done for today, I could do half of the fork and lost 7 grams... There‘s a lot more to come and Kudos to everyone who has done this on their own.

It's hard work getting paint off. Kudos to you!
What kind of vehicle takes a 5 bolt vented rotor that small?!

Haha at the moment (off-season) too much. But in summer between 64 and 65kg :‘)
Finished the fork today, was an hour quicker for the second half
Will do the high grit finish at the weekend and also start with the frame itself.
Weight dropped another 5 grams and it has still to be cut (unfortunately the clearcoat will increase the weight again )

you alternatively could use 303 aerospace protectant instead of clearcoat.

+1 for this. Keeps my naked carbon bike clean and protects against uvreedplayer wrote:you alternatively could use 303 aerospace protectant instead of clearcoat.

Top- and headtube done. I cut myself in the hand at the beginning of the christmas holidays and can't resume the work until next week, unfortunately
But thanks for asking
yup, it's like a plague. Since most people (not on WW) don't build up from a frameset and thus don't understand the weight of every single part. A conversion BB and a heavy expander plug erase the $2,000 extra spent for the fancy carbon
Love the Max and excited to see updates, I'm about to start a cayo disc build
Yesterday I bought the same bike, size 54. 7.800 grams including pedals. What a waste!
I'll take it apart soon, but I wanted to ride it a few times to be certain of the correct fit: stem length, Darimo seat post, etc.
I am really curious about the weight savings you'll get from sanding. Not sure if it is worth all the trouble.

I think you would save even more grams by sanding it down. The heaviest part on my frame are the red parts, the black ones are only with clearcoat.
