Well...since I couldn't sell it...might as well:

After a few minutes with the rotary tool and some compound:

The white paint must be above the clear because it's probably the easiest sanding job I've ever done. Fork took less than 30 minutes while tossing the ball with my dog.

I didn't remove much clear as I wanted to preserve it to turn to gloss so it was a whopping 2g lighter for the fork:
