It looks really good with the 25mm-deep rims.
Making me think whether I should have gone with 25mm instead of 35mm rims on my Focus!

He means uber stems like Mcfk (what I have on my SL6), THM Tibia, Extralite, etc.

I prefer the matchy-matchy value of an all Fizik R1 series cockpit and saddle on this build

Hey, thanks for turning me on to these stems. I never heard of them, but I like the Extralite stem. Anyone here use this stem? Unfortunately, it seems there are no merchants that sell these stems in the U.S.

Not sure what you mean. Are you able to view the pictures in the thread? Cables are routed in standard fashion (not crossed). Using standard Shimano housing and stainless cabled. I run large patches of 3M paint protection film on the sides of the head tube.

3M PPF Pro Series is the best film to use for it, i have used it too. (i have to because i work at 3M ;-))

How were the Grand Bois tires compared to the Compass?

About the same. Neither pair lasted very long. Been running Corsa Graphene 2.0 since

Nice bike, I also have a 2019 Trek Emonda SLR (H2 size 60).

Are you happy with those Bontrager XXX bottle cages?
Mine don't seem to clamp enough around the bottles, and therefore are noisy.
I use Elite Corsa Bottles.

How are light-bicycle 25mm’s? Do you get brake-rub out of saddle?

Brake rub? Hell no. These rims are super stiff considering their weight.

Since Imaking20 went back to rim brakes, I thought I'd throw a recent picture of my SL6 antithesis. In my mind, this is perfection in a rim brake, fully-manual bike. Is this a last of its kind? Frame 660g fork 275g. The all new Emonda can't touch that.

@rich_w That Emonda is beautiful! I have an open mold frame from 2013 that looks pretty much like an Emonda but around 400g heavier than the weights you've claimed here. At the moment I don't feel the need for anything more, this bike has taken me on many adventures. I'd ideally like to swap my frameset for a legitimate Emonda like yours one day for that extra weight saving and peace of mind. Love it!
