When I switched from ee to 9100 on the Enve with textured brake track, it was a significant difference, like night and day. Prior to that I always thought they were fine. I had ee again up until a few months ago and went back to Super Record brakes, which I felt was an improvement in power over the ee. I know a lot of people here will proclaim ee are on the same level as 9100 but I'm pretty sure that is straight up false.

Well thanks for the brake report Ryan. I have 9100 DM brakes now and I've never had ee's before. I was just thinking about trying the ee's when I saw the gen 4 thread. And personally I've never really liked the looks of the ee's, although I do understand that some people like it because it's bling.
Yesterday I rode on some steep switchback descents and the 9100 and my Bora wheels did fantastically.
So when are you gonna try the Dura Ace pedals? Or are you still holding out because you are afraid you gonna like it too much, lol. Funny but true story. Recently I switched out the Keo 2 Max pedals to the 9100 on the back of the tandem. My wife is totally non-technical when it comes to bike equipment. After the first ride she came and told me how much she liked the new pedals and the extra power transfer she now has, lol! Take a nother look at the pro peleton and see what every pro is using now.

There should be a betting pool on all of your bikes. Over or under 16months on this frame? I'll take the under
I don’t disagree that da brakes , both 9000 and 9100, are superior in bite with equal lever force. The weight loss is a fair trade for me, but I don’t ride LA canyons. But I ‘m not in thee “”ee identical to da camp”. Fwiw, I have inadvertently locked a rear whee w 9000 but never w ee.

Wow, that's being generous. I think you need to drop the over/under to like 4 months max.asiantrick wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 6:27 pmThere should be a betting pool on all of your bikes. Over or under 16months on this frame? I'll take the under
before my parlee xd fell into my lap I was considering a T1SL disc.

Ryan- just saw this pedal review on CyclingTips. From another CyclingTips pedal article I got some weights for you. 9100 234+71=305g. Speedplay Ti 164+118=282g. So the diff. on system weight is only 23g.

My Speedplays weight just shy of 140 grams, and I believe Ryan's are close. So that's another 20 grams on top of the normal difference. There's a bit of tuning you can do to Speedplays vs SPD-SLs.
I ride both and like both for different reasons. And if you can get the Ti 6Q2 spindles, those are even lighter than the 6/4 spindles from Speedplay. Not sure if they're still available, and I'm never selling mine.

I was a longtime Speedplay user but I’m not going back. One thing that the Speedplay drove me mad was getting pedal tattoos on my legs and other things. I hated having grease on my pedals and now no such issue on the 9100. And when I put the bike on the bike stand I can turn the crank holding the pedals without getting my hands dirty. These are the intangible things. Not to mention I buy the 9100 cleats from the U.K. for $10.50 a pair. I bought six pairs. That’s hard to beat! How much are Zero cleats go for these days?
