Started out at well over 8kg with Ultegra 6800 mechanical, but now updated at 6.63kg after 3 years of slow and steady upgrades. Updated pics at the bottom of this page.

The frame and fork are a little heavy at around 1700gr (estimated with all the hardware bits and bobs), but it's such a wonderful machine to ride, and it has beautifully unique tube shapes, that I'm willing to accept the weight penalty.

Thanks rexyi! Yes, I'm an N=1 guy so this is my everyday bike. I commute to work on it, ride around town on it, go shopping on it, etc. but it's also great for my long weekend rides too.

Would be nice to have some carbon wheels as well, but those will have to wait. I can't complain about the Fulcrums though.

Hah, the Racing Zero is one of the best alu wheelset in the world, and once change to carbon wheelset, the machine is ready to race!

Very true.

I've thought about trading up for a carbon wheel set, but I can't bear thought of letting the Fulcrum's go. They are such an awesome all-round wheel set. So, I'll have to wait until I can scrape together the funds to add a second wheel set.

I've got my eye on the Bora One 35 clinchers. And to hell with anyone who says mixing Shimano and Campy is wrong!

Managed to drop a couple of hundred grams by replacing the seatpost with a 150 gram Ali Express special. Added bonus, it looks much better than the FSA. And, replaced the Fulcrum Skewers with light weight titanium ones.

Also replaced all the bolts with titanium models and cut the steerer tube a tad.

Oh yeah, and finally got around to upgrading the brakes from 6800 to 9100. Dropped some weight and nice little perfomance boost to boot.

So now that I'm down to about 7.07kg, just waiting on an S-Works Aerofly II bar to get me under the 7kg mark.

Finally got and installed my S-Works Aerofly II bar. At 40cm wide it came in at 217 grams.

While the Idol is not an aero frame, I think the bar suits the bikes angular tube shapes very nicely.

Also swapped the cassette for a ZTTO 11-28 which came in at exactly 208 grams, bringing the the total weight of the bike down to 6.9kg.

There's really nothing more I want to do to the bike itself, but I may one day grab a deeper section carbon wheelset. I think a Light Bicycle AR46 get allow me to drop another 125 grams or so.

So new shoes from Winspace for the Idol, and a few other minor changes bring this baby down to 6.63kg.

The wheels came in under 1300gr for the pair with tubeless tape installed.

Pretty happy about that.
