Another Supersix Himod
Moderators: MrCurrieinahurry, maxim809, Moderator Team
I’m at it again. I recently built a 2017 himod, but sold it soon after as I just didn’t get on with being back on a 58cm frame.
The story of this new build is while messing about looking through buy/sell groups on Facebook, I came across a 2016 himod team frame in a 56cm for £500. Contacted the seller and said he was selling as t was to big and he’d purchased a 54 and moved the pets across. He is currently in hospital, so thebdeal for the frame will be done in the coming weeks. This gives me time to decide how to build this bike. After plenty of thinking and even considering selling my weightweenie himod, I settled on building the new frame with a mixture of Ultegra 6800 and R8000. I will utilise my lightweights that I recently purchased and parts I have lying about the garage.
I am originally from South Africa (currently live in the UK) and visit a couple times a year, this bike will primarily be used for travelling back to SA or to Europe on cycling trips.
It won’t be a super weenie, but if I could finish up around 6.5kgs I’d be really happy.
I have grabbed this pic off google just to give an idea to those that don’t know what the 2016 team frame looked like

£500 for one of those frames is an absolute steal!! That’s my size too, I’m very very jealous.
Frame (and fork) have arrived.
Waiting on a couple bits and then can start to assemble.

No developments here at the minute as moving house and travelling for work have taken up my last few weeks. Im off tomorrow so will start throwing psrts on the frame.
I ordered this from J&L today, think its rather good looking, so once it arrives I'll hopefully have everything else to piece this build together in totality.
Will endeavor to get all parts I currently have along with frame weighed tomorrow and document it all

Oof, that's a long stem! I need to get my reach out a bit more on my Tarmac, but waiting for a cheap Aeronova to pop up - that should do the trick.
Did you see AX have a sale on their premium seatposts at the moment - not sure if they'd fit this frame though? My guess is they're gonna bulk them up more as with the Vial Evo...

I run straight thru on my Evo - got one of these on eBay (hylix) - came in as advertised at 172g but 400mm , so trimming going to save some weight.

I might look at an AX for my other Supersix, anything to get me closer to subs 5kgs. Right now I hve ambitions to make this a super weenie in any way.4ibanez wrote: ↑Fri Sep 07, 2018 1:39 pmOof, that's a long stem! "Finished" this off. Steerer still uncut, as Im unsure if this will be staying with me or moving on very quickly to make space for something else, so keeping some resale value.

Great work.
I'm looking for a 2016 fork still for my Black Inc. If you come across one on your Facebook buying groups then let me know please (I don't have facebook).

Not an 00, but I have an Arione R1 I'm not using if that's of use?
