Those are mounts for the reflectors that come in the box. You can get an adapter to run a flare r on the rear one(the one on the right) so dont toss that but the front one is basically trash. Keep the hardware for them as bontrager dont usually provide bolts with their blendr mounts and you can re use them. There should also be a little silver m3 bolt that will bolt that rear mount into your seatpost with the bike. Its in a big bag that has dont throw this out printed on it.

I thought, that they are for lights, but Trek also said that a light mount is integrated in the seat clamp.

Looking for any infos about new Madone SLR.

I´ve just got an special offer at £4.5k for new SLR 6(Ultegra equipped rim brake option) at my lbs https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/bike ... lity_black

Any thoughts about frame weight, BB and front end stiffness and overall ride quality? It is still so much money to spend compared to let´s say Cervelo S5 2018, now at £2.6k.

Real looker! I am looking at 2019 SLR 6, viper red colour scheme.

Do you have OCLV 700? How are you satisfied in terms of stiffness, weight, climbing abilities...?

I have 600 not 700 OCVL , stiffness is good , I have the full aero bars and Di2 , all up weight including pedals and cages with my Enve see 5.6 is 7.8kgs

I am a 85kg rider so speed on hills is subjective as I run 11-32 cassette 50-34

Obviously my one is disc brake so it will be a little different in terms of stiffness, and the weight will be a little less on the rim brake frame. Its also 700 oclv so should be lighter than last years frameset, although i haven't looked into that one so dont quote me here.

Stiffness wise, the front end is a little flexier than a 2018 s5, but not so much that i find it detrimental. I've pulled a few 1500w+ sprints on it now and haven't noticed it flexing. Any flex is in the bar too, the headtube is really stiff so cornering is super direct. In the same situations bb is super solid. It is a very stiff bike.

In terms of ride quality, the isospeed works. Very compliant back end. The bars have enough of a dampening effect to balance it all out. I'm very impressed. I currently commute on mine as i can't go back to my old commuter after riding it.

£2600 for an s5 is damn cheap though, it just won't be as comfortable and a maginally less aerodynamic.

£2.6k for an S5 on Ultegra is a cracking deal, but I think I am between 54 and 56.
Madone is clear choice with 56, btw I am 6ft with 33.5 inseam.

I hd to get a longer seatpost at 6ft on a 56 frame, so may cost you a little extra there. Saddle height of 785. Om not sure about the exchange rate but thats more than retail here in nzd im pretty sure

Stitchking: my saddle height is 745mm so should be ok. RRP of Madone SLR 6 should be 6300usd according Trek site. If you are right about price, I´ll order one from NZ

I have shorter legs(745mm saddle height) so I wonder if 54 would be better fit. I´ve just read your S5 topic, really great looking bike, I am sorry for your accident and glad you´re ok.
BTW, do you remember your 56 S5 seat tube lenght? I cannot find it in any geo chart.

Any advice for sizing? I’m 6’ (183cm) with a saddle height of 76 cm. Inseam 86 cm. No test bike avalaible . Reporting from my Pinarello F10 55 (110 stem, handelbar stack 90) give me a 56 but reseller tells me 58

Thats 10g of steerer tube i cut off the fork

Did you cut the steerer at the prescribed 5mm below top of stem?

From what I'm measuring, that's going to be too little. The integrated space within the stem is 3mm, and the expander is 2mm thick. That alone is 5mm with no space to preload the bearings.

No i cut it roughly flush with the top of the stem, then i have a 5mm spacer, which with the expander in the steerer was about perfect. Just fiving myself potential room for fit and resale
