As mentioned earlier, Tune stopped producing pink parts. I am lucky enough to own a pink Tune Bubu headset. Since the T1SL uses a 44mm headtube, I can use this headset with a straight non tapered fork. I think this will look clean since the lower cup will seat the bearings inside the headtube. If I want to be more modern and use a tapered fork, I will have to use a lower headset that has the bearing cup outside the headtube. For now, I want to use the Tune headset and it is pretty light too.

Upper bearing with dust cap. If I want to tone down the pink, I also have a black Tune dust cap.

The lower bottom assembly which will sit inside the frame. I think it will be cleaner than having the bearing sit outside the frame.

The fork will be a non tapered THM Scapula SP fork. I don't like the ugly gray logos on this fork so I took it off along with the gloss clear coat.

To make the fork more flush with the 44mm headtube, I need the THM Spinae Scapulae cover. Adds a little weight, but makes the fork look more modern. I removed the clear coat too.

Weight with the logos and cover was 254 grams. Without the clear coat 244 grams. With all the clear coat off, it almost looks like one piece. Shaped more like the Scapula CT which is a 1 1/4 taper.

The beauty of this fork is I don't need an expander plug. It is threaded inside the headtube and comes with a very light screw. Compared to the Tune Gum Gum expander, this option is lighter.

The Schmolke TLO Evo bar already came in matt finish. The Ax Lightness stem was gloss so I had to sand it down. Everything looks good and matches so far. I decided all carbon parts on this build will be matt finish.

I do have some options available to me without spending extra money on a new fork if I want to go modern and have a tapered fork. The absolute lightest option would be to take a 2016 or later Cannondale Evo Himod fork and strip it down. Like the THM Scapula CT, the Himod fork has a 1 1/4 taper at the bottom. This fork will also have the non curved straight legs that look more in line with the 3T Rigida Ltd fork that come with the T1SL. My wife's Evo has this fork and it weighs 235 grams. I will need a Chris King Inset 8 headset which will weigh significantly more than the Tune Bubu.......Or I can use her old 2014 Evo Himod fork which weighs a little bit more at 284 grams. I can swap the 2 on her and she will not know the difference.

Lovely stuff - a new thread with so many nice things in it already.

Funny how a toned down Godzuki build is 100x more hands on than 99.9% of bikes out there!

+1! This kind of thread inspires me to have a go at a bit of tuning, seems fun if a little mad!
