Looking forward to this one as well as your English. I've always been an admirer of the work that goes into a Field.

As this is my first foray Into the world of disc braking... I was wondering what’s the lightest disc brake and wheelset around?

Probably custom in the vein of what @madcow did (FSE 25mm tubulars, Pillar Ti spokes, Cyberhubs). I run the same spokes/hub, but with 420g 46mm deep LB clincher rims, the wheelset is ~1200g.

Being lazy and all... are lightweight discs really light?

Meilenstein T24 Disc is 1245g according to bike24. There seems to be no disc version of other models yet. I might be wrong, but LW website does not help with search.

EIE SL Rims on Carbon-Ti hubs I'd say. Should be 1050g for tubulars, 1150 for clinchers.

You could go pretty damn light with AX lightness tubulars wheels @ 840g for the set

http://ax-lightness.de/en/cycling/bike- ... -disc-25t/

Or FSE do a set at around 975g apparently

You could look at Cadence wheels based in Australia

The weight is dependent on axle size, he makes DeCadence wheels which are lightish, more so for tubular...

He's a really personable bloke and easy to deal with

I bought some tubular wheels but havent tested due to an unplanned hospital stay
