This will be my thread where I put my bicycles, parts, thoughts, and maybe some discussion.
Unfortunately, I lack proper weenie-ing and will at some point look to rectify that, for now it'll just be some bikes.

And now I present my RD#2

Can you tell more about the frame building process? Did you source the tubes elsewhere and only made made the small parts like dropouts?

Yes the tubes are sourced elsewhere. There are quite a few options, I went with Rockwest. Due to the tubes being stock and designed for wide applications they would seem to be overbuilt and a reasonable amount of weight could be taken out of them with a different layup schedule. This is something I'm working on.
I make the dropouts, first by making a thick plate and then cuting out the dropout. The hanger is from Paragon Machine Works.
From there it is simple tube-to-tube construction with coping and fitting tubes on my jig and then tacking them together. After that I over wrap the joints and vacuum bag.
This is my second frame and quite an improvement over the first. There are still lots of things I'm looking to refine. The next frame build is a cyclocross/all-arounder.

Impressive work but that handlebar position is very wrong.

A nice little weight savings: before and after

Gotten in a beer trade from someone who prefers 11-28t.

I also made a saddle combo to test out my new saddle mould. Modelled off a Fizik Thar. This is going on my dirt jump bike, which is rather different from bikes typical of this forum.

Nice work!

Hard to see where all the weight's coming from, though... your frameset, bars and wheelset weigh about the same as mine, but I'm 3/4 of a kg lighter.

Must be that I've got Red instead of Ultegra and no power meter... I guess segmented cable housing helps a bit too.

Thanks.
The powermeter, crank arms, and chain rings weigh 895 grams. Red is probably around 600 depending on year and chainrings. Everything on Red is 30 to 80 grams lighter, which add up. My cable/housing is Jagwire Universal Sport brake and shifting, although I didn't weigh it, I'm sure it's not light.

How it rides?

This second bike rides decent, better than my first build. I need to do more developing of the layup and processing for the joint wrapping. The geometry is where the bike excels, in my opinion, in terms of ride.

I'm just starting to get into developing a third frame and will be trying to better document and share it here.

Since all my previous pictures are also awful, I'll just keep using that quality, sorry.

The new road frame.

Soon to be painted by mediocre painting talent. Then, build to follow.
