Hey Wookski,

First of all what a stunning build. Just perfect in every respect.

Its hard to find much information on ordering through Japanese custom builders online. I had some questions about what your service experience was like dealing with Cherubim: are they comfortable dealing with overseas customers or would you recommend flying out to collect, get fitted etc? I'm considering a similar build but am unsure about arranging the build/shipping to the UK.

In a similar vein, how customisable are the bike presets that are shown on the website? Could I get DM brakes, 28mm tires for example or do they stick to traditional styles only?

Thanks, and once again, lovely bike. Truly something special :beerchug:
DM brakes were an option and was clearance for wider tyres. When I tried to work with Cherubim direct I received no response so I ended up engaging Mike from Blacksmith Cycles. My fitting was done by Cycling Projects Racing in Sydney who specialise in Legend/ Pegoretti/ Parlee/ Sarto and the numbers were sent to Cherubim via Blacksmith. The geo was then produced by Cherubim. The frame was shipped to Australia direct from Japan. It sounds complicated but Mike at Blacksmith was a pleasure to deal with and Felice from Cycling Projects in Sydney is an absolute master. Shoot mike an email and arrange a conversation.

Keen to hear your thoughts on the Darimo T2 - thinking about getting one but concerned about durability at that weight.

The T2 is a beautiful item but has it’s limitations.

The T2 seems to be slightly narrower than 2 other posts I have used previously. Even with heaps of carbon paste it will still slip occasionally.

The clamping mechanism seems to be extremely fragile with a very low max torque. At my weight (<64kg) this is not a problem but I would be hesitant to recommend for 70kg+ riders.

I really like the product but it has to be handled with care.

I love referring back to this bike for ideas on my own Italian steel. I was considering the Darimo seat post myself but get the feeling it’s a bit fragile for daily use compared to the WR Compositi.

Well that's good to hear, I'm a similar weight but no longer in the hunt for a Darimo seatpost...I just bought a carbon Smud yoke, Ti bolts etc and cut my old Superzero post so pretty happy with the weight for minimal cost...

Thats looks sick. The deep wheels and thin tubes look great together.

Not normally a fan of deep section wheels with skinny steel but this incarnation of your build look so right.
