Direct mount on sisl2...
I would love that, but I haven’t been able to find a direct mount 1x narrow wide for the sisl2 in a 50t. Know of one?RyanH wrote:Direct mount on sisl2...

Garabuk can make them. I inquired awhile ago and he said he could.
Good to know. Thanks!RyanH wrote:Garabuk can make them. I inquired awhile ago and he said he could.

120mm ud finish. Unfortunately the steerer is cut so short I am a little concerned about clamping the MCFK to it. The stem has a very wide steer tube clamp and it is probably 5-7mm over the top of the steer tube. Hopefully it will be ok?

Will a slimmer top cover give you more bite on the steerer?

If you have any old bits of steerer knocking around, or an uncut fork you need to cut anyway, perhaps you could cut a slice and drop it in to fill the gap?
That’s an interesting idea! Never would have thought of that. And I guess that’ll help relieve pressure from the top of the main steer tube?themidge wrote:If you have any old bits of steerer knocking around, or an uncut fork you need to cut anyway, perhaps you could cut a slice and drop it in to fill the gap?

Frame arrived yesterday but unfortunately ran into a snag. It looks like the rear derailleur hanger may have been bent forward (towards the head tube) and now the rear drive side wheel axle will not fit into the dropout . Hopefully my LBS can fix otherwise I guess I’ll need to call Litespeed for a replacement....

No, that’s not ok, but here’s what I’d do (don’t tell anyone): get a piece of steertube as mentioned, hopefully a piece you cut from that same steertube with the same inner and outer diameter. Then, (this part is critical), get an alloy sleeve (like Cervelo used to do and maybe still does), that perfectly matches the inner diameter and epoxy it in, providing at least some support between the two pieces, in addition to preventing the top bolt from crushing the top of the otherwise unsupported steertube. Make sure that alloy sleeve extends down below the lower lip of the stem stack since that is where most of the stress on the steertube is. Once that’s done then just use a good old fashioned starnut inside the alloy sleeve for your top cap and preload anchor.dak wrote: 120mm ud finish. I never saw this thread... that’s my story going forward.
Edit: Truthfully I’d probably try to find a stem that actually fits what steerer you have left. Do you have at least 36mm of clampable steertube?

Can you run a Cane Creek Slamset and get some extra steerer to clamp to?
MCFK is 45mm stack height IIRC.
