Okay. So not really very light. But not bad for an alu frame hardcore hardtail with 5 inches of travel, proper trail tyres and decent brakes.

There are a couple of differences from the photo to the final build as follows:

Saddle is now a Tune Komm Vor
Pedals are ti axled MX-03

Confirmed final weight on my hanging scales is 8920g.

Wow, that frame is looong. How do you like the OPM ODL?

It does look long, but isn’t that the way everything’s going nowadays?? I wanted something I could really nail on the descents but still climbed well, which this does. It is pretty slack at 66 degree head angle.

I like the fork. Stiff despite the skinny legs. A bit more sensitive than my old DT Swiss XCM130 and handles the big hits well.

I'm thinking of getting the 2021 Clockwork Evo 29er but would like to know the frame weight.

As a benchmark, do you know what your bare frame weighs please?

I'll build it up with an XT 1x groupset that I've got and a pair of DT240 / XR391 wheels. I'll need some new forks, thinking of trying to pick up some used Pike's or Fox 34's in 120 to 140mm (any thoughts on which are best?)

I'd be very pleased with sub 11kg!

I just editted my post, and you've replied already! Thanks.

That would be a good weight. The XTC that I'm replacing is around 1800g, but the other alternatives I'm considering (Santa Cruz Chameleon & Nukeproof Scout) are quoted at 2.2kg ish which seems a lot, even if they are including the headset and rear axle?

It was the lightest I managed to find that wasn't carbon and could take a 5 inch fork. I think 2.2kg is more ballpark for most aluminium hard tail frames that aren't designed to be beaten to death
