I've been a long time lurker on this site but have never thought any of my bikes weenie enough to warrant posting. My last bike was a 7.2kg BMC SLC01 2010. Great to ride but I wanted to go lighter. So here we are. My Cannondale Super Six Evo Hi-Mod coming in at 6.53kg. I haven't got any photos of the weighed components as I was too excited to get it built at the time and didn't think about it to be honest. Build spec. is as follows:
Frame: Cannondale Super Six Hi-Mod Evo 2016
Forks: Cannondale Super Six Hi-Mod Evo 2016, with stock Cannondale headset
Seatpost: Cannondale C2 'SAVE' carbon - 25.4mm (c.60mm cut from the end to remove the Di2 aluminium battery insert)
Wheels: 'DCR wheels' custom handbuilts here in the UK. DCR rims and hubs (Bitex rebranded). Sapim CX-Ray spokes. Tubeless ready. 1380g (which I'm really impressed with for alu clinchers)
Tyres: Michelin Pro4 service course

Skewers: Plant X Carbon/Titanium - Gunmetal grey

What's next to shed weight on?
Pedals: Will be switching to Look Keo Blade Carbon Ti to save c.70g
Bottle cages: I was amazed at how heavy the Specialized Ribs were at 44g each. Will be switching to the Tune cages at 9g each! A huge saving.
With these savings that's a further chunk off the total.
Of course there are other areas I could save some grams here and there:
Carbon wheels - well I much prefer the braking on Alu rims.
Full SRAM red - I have contemplated this for a while. By upgrading the brakes and shifters I would only be saving about 40g so for the cost it's a no at the moment.
Chainset: There is big weight to be saved here. Were I not to run a Power Meter and run a THM chainset for example I could knock another 250-300g off the total weight which is huge. I could run a stages, however I prefer the reliability of the Quarq.
I've no doubt I could get this bike below 6kg or possibly lower, however the cost against the benefit would be diminishing. What I've ended up with is a bike that is incredibly functional, quick and comfortable at what I consider to be a very reasonable weight.
I'll be updating further when I purchase the occasional bits and bobs.
