Inside leg is 95cm. I’ve had several bike fits and biomechanics analysis and arrived at my fit numbers but will be having a review soon once my Propel is finished.
New cranks, earlier red (2011) is heavier but will still be ~50g lighter than 6800 cranks plus with the adapter gone and BB30 bearings about 50-60g saving there. 280g red shifters compared to 419g 6800 just to think of another saving.. it’s going to be tantalisingly close to <7kg!
Took it out the other day with the wheels from my Propel. Took some nice photos. Need to paint this thing a crazy colour.

You must pedal very toes down; the Lemond forumla puts you at 838mm saddle height!poursuivant wrote: ↑Thu Oct 18, 2018 6:34 amInside leg is 95cm. I’ve had several bike fits and biomechanics analysis and arrived at my fit numbers but will be having a review soon once my Propel is finished.

Just waiting for BB30 bottom bracket to arrive and we are going ahead with the SRAM Red 10 speed swap.. it’ll be very interesting to see what the final weight is.

Thanks mate. It’s a simple build.. I’m not even using lightweight inner tubes.. Red really is a weight weenies friend. I could drop another 80g with some decent inner tubes.
I swapped my 6800 Ultegra for full 10spd red - even the chain is 1090R. That’s what catapulted this build forward.

I didn’t get on with the Double tap and sram hood shape so the bike is currently stripped and will be rebuilt with different finishing kit and back to a Shimano groupset in the near future.
Love this build, very cool.
Looking at a saddle height of 87.5cm and going on roughly the x 0.883 saddle height rule gives you an inside leg of 39 inches if my maths is right.
That’s some serious leg length.

Shame as it looked great with SRAM Red.poursuivant wrote:I didn’t get on with the Double tap and sram hood shape so the bike is currently stripped and will be rebuilt with different finishing kit and back to a Shimano groupset in the near future.

It did. I’m curious to try out the SRAM 11 speed hood shape to see if that works better for me. My wife has just got a Kuota KOM with Red/Force 22, I’ll give it a try (though her bike is 48cm!)
Your calculations are pretty darn close. 98cm! I have dropped my saddle height back to 86cm on my Propel as I’m using a Selle SMP on that now and it seems to work better.
I’m really thinking about this rebuild now .. I want to use Shimano 11 speed stuff and Dura ace 9000 would be the ideal, most likely it will be a mix of 9000/6800 to begin with if I do stick with Shimano.
My question is cranks .. I will be better off weight wise sticking with BB30 native cranks, so.. rotor 3d? Or hollow grams?
I got a bit confused with hollowgrams when I was considering them last time .. axle lengths and spacers and things for a caad 10 were a bit confusing. Any tips?
I also want to stick with brakes from one of the big 3, as my kcnc’s required so much more lever effort and this was a bit dicey descending, so likely this build will end up heavier but that’s okay. I loved the way it rode and climbed, and did most of my riding on it as a 7.2kg Ultegra build.
My Propel is an absolute porker and the weight starts with an 8 with the 50mm clinchers.. hence the CAAD10 felt like a rocket ship.
