So whats next? Help me out. Right now I am thinking the following areas can be lightened, some I know the products I want and some I dont know:

EE Brakes
Brake Cables - Powercordz or Alligator may do the trick. I had Aican in the past and didnt like how they held up.
Rotor Qarbon Rings - Having some type of asymetric chainring is a must. I am a huge fan. Also I bought a SRM Power Meter, so I'm stuck with the Rotor crank.
Notice the photo on the page... http://rotorbike.com/catalog/default/ro ... 10bcd.html
11-32 Casette - Recon may be the way to go.
Bartape - I have some Lizards Skins and Deda Traforato that seem to be pretty light
Wheels - I am a fan of the 25mm width of my Hed. The new wheels would have to be just as wide.

Thoughts?

Brakes: EE brakes, if I could afford them I would, otherwise Dura Ace.
Cables: Powercordz. Tried them but didn't like the brake feel, too 'springy' in modulation, scary as they are so weak laterally. Maybe just powercordz for shifting?
Cassette: 11-32 is good, but I often spin out with 50-11 (depends on your roads). I would go with 53-36 and an 11-32, but it depends on your weight fitness and grade percentages. I struggle over 20% gradients with a 34 and 11-28.
Bartape: Go with what your like and don't worry about the weight, there's hardly any saving.

Thank you for your reply.

- Its an Etap bike so I only need brake cables. Thanks for the advice, I dont want springy modulation.
- I live in Colorado. The Rocky Mountains are no joke. 11-28 with 50/34 is adequated. This is the first season trying 11-32. Well see how it goes.

I run powercordz on my SLR01 and I completely disagree with @Lewn777. Only brake housing I've found to work well with the front end of the SLR01.

So the modulation is tight and responsive? What brakes do you use?

Today I went shopping for a few items:

- Rotor Qarbon chain ring.
- 2x M5X40 Schmolke Bolts
- M5X35 and M5X40 Titanium Bolts

The bolts are for the saddle clamp.

Also I am contact with @Berk for a possible custom carbon saddle clamp. He would have to shave off a few grams from the current 59 grams. Hopefully it isnt too expensive.

I'd be interested in a Berk solution also if you need to meet a volume requirement, assuming the price and weight saving was reasonable of course.

An out and about pic with the iPhone.

That is a great looking bike... I've always wanted to pick up a set of Ardennes or Belgiums to use for winter wheels.

Thanks!! I highly recommend them. The width is one of the biggest reasons why I went with them. With 25c tires it ballons out huge. The handling is great!

Dura Ace brakes, and really with powercordz, it is the first time I have had good rear braking without ruining cables up front running into the frame. When team BMC was using 2105 SLR01s, they had powercordz for the rear brake.

A new bar and stem dropped on.

I found an AX Lightness setup on eBay
Image
I like the clamp much better than the Zipp stem
Image
Not only did it save weight part for part but, the stem is taller on the tube so it negated the top spacer.
Image
All said and done it only removed 0.09 Kilos. I didnt expect that much to come off since the Zipp combo is already super light.

FSE Extralite Wheels arrived today. I went and picked them up at the Post Office. Fit and finish looks good. They feel lighter than my Ardennes. More to follow as I install the veloplugs (hopefully they fit) as well as wheels/tubes.
