Hello All,

Newbie here but a long time lurker on this forum and have admired many WeightWeenie builds over the years.

I've almost finished a new road bike build and thought I'd share the results with you all. I wanted a bike lighter than my existing Eddy Merckx - San Remo 76 but didn't want to compromise too much on reliability and function. The results of this mandate are below.

NOTE: I'm still waiting on my Ritchey stem to be delivered, stem fitted is temporary. I've also got some Tune Mig and Mag hubs waiting to replace the DT 350's shown. Will update once fitted.

Very clean build! Props for going a bit different with the brown accents, not something you see very often. And the tan wall tires and bar tape bring it all together nicely.

Very clean build! Do you have the weight for the frame/fork?

Cheers

Really interesting mix of colours there though it's the sidewalls of the tyres that seem to dominate. Did you try black side walls as the frame is always the star of any build and the brown on that with the bar tape might make it stand out even more. Or maybe the black/anthracite mix of Vittoria corsa g tyres would compliment the frame colour. Really nice though.

Thanks for the comments chaps.

I did have black side-wall tyres on it initially but thought it was too much black going on (see pic below). Other option I looked at was the dark brown sidewall tyre Continental do but wasn't convinced. I want a plush ride anyway so the Turbo Cottons seemed the best option.

Little update following recent changes to my Parlee.

1. Ritchey WCS Matrix C220 Carbon Stem fitted.
2. Wheels rebuilt with Tune Mag 170 and Mig 70 Hubs laced to the Enve rims with Saipem CX-Ray spokes.

Weight as shown = 6.64Kg. Not exactly WeightWeenie but a good functional weight.

I'd ideally like to get close to 6Kg so open to suggestions on where people would look to trim some fat.

Great looking bike. I'm in the market for a new one myself.....whats your verdict on the Altum?!? (i'm basically after an all-round 3 season bike that can do a bit of everything - club runs, sportives, the odd euro mountain trip). Any views appreciated!
