This thread will be dedicated to my new Hi-Mod build. The frame is not new but I picked it up for a great price and it’s in really good nic. THe frame is replacing my SuperSix Evo Frame which can be seen here:
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=145399

Yesterday I received the frame and stuck some parts on just to get a quick idea of look. I am currently waiting for ceramic BB bearings, a carbon inner rear mech plate and some other small finishing items.

I will strip it down and weigh everything as I go. My goal is sub 5.5kgs

More updates to follow. As it stand currently minus chain, cables and BB bearings it weighs 5.190kgs

Looks good so far. The non hi-mod you built came up nice.

Oooooo! Yes! :D I've always liked white bikes so I reckon this one is going to be even better than the non hi-mod with that paint.

You sure that’s a hi mod? Looks like a standard to me.

I’m pretty sure, considering it has the Hi-Mod logo painted on the frame on the seat tube.

What’s that frame weight include? My 2015 was 860g with bb, rear hanger, chain stay guard and the little metal sticker thing by the bb. After I sanded all the paint off and removed the metal sticker and chain stay guard it was 770g

The weight in picture is frame only with rear mech hanger, no bearings or any other parts.

Looking forward to this build!

Those Hollowgram cranks seems a bit hefty, my Sram Etap crank weigh in at 572 grams. Different BB though.

A mid size HM (till my2015) totally naked but WITH paint is around 770/760..

Yea it’s a Hi-MOD frame, I’m assuming the frames got progressively heavier after 2012 and being a 56cm 2015 I’ve seen a few weigh in around there or a bit lighter. So naked (no bearings or cups, no chain stay guard, no metal chain guard sticker and no rear derailleur) with paint it probably weighed low 800/high 790g

Not much going on here at the moment. With winter well and truly taking hold of the UK, this project is waiting until the weather to brighten up a bit to get completed. Dusted it off today and dropped some 50mm clinchers on just to take a look and get motivated for 2018.

Happy New Year and see you all in 2018.
