Some more eBay bargain hunting and I now have a SISL2 crank on its way to me. £160, very happy. The rings will be replaced as they are 50/34 and not my desired ratio. The arms look a little weathered but that is no worry to me. Looking at my current weight of the SI @ 618grams vs the SISL2’s at 448grs, this is a significant saving.

I would, but I’ve decided to run the 50/34 for now, and will re-evaluate after summer to decide on my ratio.

New saddle arrived today, it’s pretty much a fizik arione carbon copy. The arione shape has always worked for me, so hopefully this will.

Thanks for that tip. I’ll remember that for future!

So got out just for an hour yesterday, saddle seems ‘ok’hopefully more time will get me more comfortable on it.

Now debating on a pair of veloflex record tubs for 200gram saving

3 Veloflex record tubs arrived today. Probably the last change to this bike, besides getting the new fork sanded and fitted

Weights below:

New tyres on and feeling so good. Weight now at 5.260kgs. All that's left for this build is the newer style fork and I'll be done.

Christ that looks mean. Funny how the light catches the fork just behind the front brake.

I wonder how I would get on without the padding on that arione clone. I run an R7 on my winter bike and 00 on the summer bike, both fine. R7 almost a bit too squishy actually.

It's absolutely stunning!! Really impressed with your work, nice and classy- gumwall tires set it off.

Will you be doing loads of riding this year?
