the purple one looks alot better.

that horse-chestnut produced some real damage to the frame. wasn't expecting this....seems that all this weight saving has his costs. will be extra carreful with my caad from now.

Sourcing components for a build at the moment - would you mind posting a link for the stem you bought?

Expecting a Bowman Palace R next month :D

You can find Kalloys on the 'Bay that will require a bit of elbow grease and nail polish remover to stealth, or you can buy a pre-stealthed one from Fairwheel Bikes.

Yeah eBay - very cheap and readily available. I noticed the paint on this one wasn't as robust as previous ones. Previously i've easily wiped the logos off with acetone. This time it took the paint off right down to the raw aluminium. I ended up stripping the entire thing and re-painting it with a light dusting of satin black.

I work in a bike shop and we've recently had a CAAD12 written off by a massive dent in the top tube. They're ridiculously thin

Updated pics to show stripped Kalloy and a few other tweeks:

She's a heavy old girl, but she's making a great job of the UK winter.

This needed new discs. Whereas I'd usually fit plain or black components I couldn't help but fit these Hope floating discs in perfectly matched anodised purple.

...excuse how dirty the bike is in the pics!

Nice build sir

Have you experienced any issues with the calipers rubbing (perhaps due to a misalignment from the quick releases)? Are you still planning to use the bike for your UK winter rides and how long are your typical outtings?

Really close to pulling the trigger on a CAAD12 or CAADX over here in NY for winter commuting

Hi 575

Lovely build.

Do you mine share frame size, sadel height from center BB and your height/inseam?

Can I ask how you find the exposure diablo for road use? Does it allow you to ride at a decent speed on fully dark roads?

I've been looking at the standard bar mount, but it seems very unstable, and am worried it will give a shaky beam on the road. Whats the raceware mount like?

Lovely build BTW.

Cheers :beerchug:
