I would make a list with weights and check if there are lighter components from other brands!

I just purchased the Rotor cassette($$$'s)to swap out the RED version and went for Q-Rings "Quarbon" chainrings to aid the knees. To my dismay, I gained an ounce to the Wilier! I'll now look into a lighter cable housing for both the Wilier and Orbea.

As for the Rca, I'll look into the Ax Leaf saddle as a start.

Hi there,

Quick question. How do you find shifting with the Rotor cassette? I was given one as a gift (currently using Dura Ace or Ultegra depending on need) and from what I'm looking at in the tooth profile I wonder if it's any good at shifting.

Thanks

First rule of thumb without sacrificing hoops/saddle/stem/crank/brakes or breaking the bank: you can probably save up to 200g by going WW on your QR & compression plug (Extralite Streeters @ 29g, $135, Extralite Ultrastar 3 @ 6g, $35 -- if you're a little wigged out by the design of it and want a more traditional plug, JRC's is 11g @ $23).

Beyond that, your gram-saved-per-dollar goes down the drain: on the Orbea you can save maybe ~250g by getting 40-50mm carbon hoops depending on which ones. Another ~80g by getting the same seatpost as the Wilier and from there you'll be sacrificing some functionality with the stem or bars (~50g saved by getting fizik cyrano 00, ~30g saved by getting MFCK or Extralite stem).

Went from just under 9.82 kg to 7.26 with the change to Roval CLX 64's, swapping out the FSA K-Force Light for Sram Red cranks(standard size added weight and changing to Jagwire housing. Cr Look Keo Blades heavier over Ti's which will be remedied soon. The Zero.7 still holding strong@6.66 kg's.
