7.3-7.8 at a rough guess, nothing is particularly light there, but it'll be a nice build none the less :D

I think you should be able to hit your number given the smaller size frame and handlebars. As the previous poster noted, there isnt anything particularly light about your build, but the spec is bulletproof and it will perform well.

I have managed a few hundred more miles on the XR4. So far, countervail has made me a believer.

On the other hand, the Protos rides as you described. It picks up speed instantly and you feel every rattle and bump in the road. I enjoy how raw and purposeful the Protos feels on Sunday rides.
So I took a leaf out of your book and got myself a stupidly cheap Protos frameset :D

Cant wait to build it up!

Do you think the WR wheels or Boras are nicer? Why?

Need to choose for my next build and was set on Bora Ones but WR are also offered by the builder.

Congrats on the new ride. There are some amazing deals on the outgoing model. I cant wait to hear your thoughts on the frame. I took mine out for a spin today and it is a much firmer ride than my Oltre XR4 and brutal compared to the C64 I test rode this past Saturday.

I absolutely love mine and consider it a keeper given the special paint. It's a fun frame for a spirited ride.

Thats a difficult question to answer because I have not tried both sets on a single frame to give them a fair head to head comparison.

That said, the WR wheels are much lighter and seem to spin up faster. They are my first set of custom built wheels and I have been very happy with them.

I have tons of confidence in the durability of the Boras. The do everything well at a fraction of the price of the high end ZIPPs and Enve. If it is not a weight first build, I would get the updated Boras because of the enhanced braking surface and the added width to accept bigger tires.

My size XR4 (50cm) came in at 6.4 KG's with Dura Ace 9150, Bora Ultra 50 clinchers, Metron 5D bar, Speedplay Zero titanium, Sells Italia SLR Tekno saddle, and EE brakes. Its by far the best bike I've ever ridden.
