I am so curious to know what modifications have been done so that I might be able to use some on my 29er build. I might go single speed again with my custom all carbon conversion from Fibre-Lyte

That's better, but that doggone saddle must go, no matter how light.
Probably the narrow bars, too, unless your rides on it never exceed a couple blocks.

Should have posted this above but anyhow :

Been working on this the last week . I have machined the death (as much as possible) all the components for the gears . Even the gear hanger has been machined and drilled (in the right places) to get it as far down as possible . 8 grams :) !!!

The cassette I have already machined and I am using the gold Extralite lock ring as it is deisigned for a 12t so fits perfectly . The cassette if you remember is by Ceradure (designed and made in the Netherlands) and is the only one of its kind that has a special ceramic coating . Not bad for a cassette that costs nearly 400 euros .

The derailleur (Campagnolo carbon) has been modified to death with carbon bolts and titanium parts . Delrin jockey wheels with full ceramics, logo removed and carbon machined down to finish the derailleur off . I forgot to weigh on its own but it is below 158grams . I also neatened up the oval I cut out the lever and I also cut down the release trigger lever too . I polished the screws holding the body and removed all unnecessary bits (it is a XT 9spd) . For anyone wondering how the derailleur and shifter work together then the ratio is 2.45 on the derailleur and 3.2 (if I remember correctly) on the shifter so the pull is slightly less on each click which meant I had to pull the derailleur in more using the tension screw and align it further up the cassette . It works anyhow .

I made my own custom titanium bolts (not the first time either) . One for the shifter and one for the gear hanger . Unfortunately because I don't have access to a proper machine I had to use the dyes so the threads are cut rather than rolled but it's all good .

Nokon carbon housing with Powercor liner and Powercorz blue gear cable . Mmmmmmmmmmm .

386grams for everything . To put it into perspective the XTR m9000 cassette alone weighs 328grams .

On the bike it brings it to 5200grams . For a MTB with a full drivetrain I think that is pretty mental . If I add the Lauf we are talking around 5800 but I really don't want to go down that route again .
