FD is way to high BTW .

Fd, is to match the oval chainring...
For the rest, disagree, yes I hate the saddle but it's not made to be nice but to fit owners back, so claiming it doesn't fit this built is irrelevant. The work on colour is present even on details (uno group) and, to me, it brings a lot of coherence

Now the front end is the one that doesn't match to me (meaning options that achieve same result exist and will look better).

It's certainly eye catching, maybe even kinda cool looking. But as it is Uno loses big time on cable integration. Are those inline hydro-barrel adjusters in front? Are they necessary? They look terrible compared to how cleanly you can do up Di2 and certainly Etap these days.

Damned, 1st trophy already

Do you know the concept of oval chainrings? they are not round

I do actually. It's to high, Way to high. . Look carefully at image, then you'll know why. Or not. I don't care ;)

lobular wrote:I like....more to the point, I admire those who have the courage (and $$$) to do something like this. If this was an off the shelf F8 with say 404's, most comments here would be 'boring', or 'just a standard F8'......if the owner wanted to 'tone down' the look a bit, simply changing the wheels would do this......but I say 'well done'.....'buy what you like, build what you like'....and also 'well done' to the OP for the build.....not a straight forward assembly.

This bike proves perfectly that taste doesn't come with money. Frame, Rotor Uno and handlebar are very fine here. Stem , saddle and wheels are big mistake.

It is possible to build bike on very common frame and technically standing out of the crowd, being also visually beautiful . Plenty of examples on this forum.

My main question would be how noisy is cable rattling in the frame ;)

Big thumbs up for having the guts. It's definitely eye catching and interesting bike. Probably it's the way to go if you want to have your F8 standing out from the crowd these days ; )
Very few small things, if I may. Surely these rings are not oval and FD seems to be very high indeed (unless it's the Rotor's way of setting it up). Secondly, imo, stem doesn't match the rest, I mean the graphics. And the last one, I think the bar wrapping needs more attention.

Hey guys you are stubborn, I am telling you the rings are Rotor Oval chainrings
Maybe you'll prefer this picture (the front derailleur position is exactly in the same position)

.

Actually these barrels are not "cable tensioners", they are made to adjust the contact point of the lever (they are lever travel adjusters)

I have been on Qrings and QXL for many seasons, but was convinced that carbon version is only in non-oval option. Was wrong, do apologise :) They must have added it to their offerings recently (?).

Bass, thank you for the info . Very surprised that this bike did not got more attention here. The disc brakes combine perfect with this wheel set and one can argue about the bikes color code but the wheels custom color fits perfect as the all hydro Rotor system does. And for the "taste police" who compare this build with some Transylvanian Roma architecture , just ignore please.

this is really something. not every day you see a bike with so much novel (to me) stuff on it. love it for wheels and rear derailleur alone. congratulations to the owner and the builder!

Maybe better with this stem?

Other than that, I totally respect what's been done here - I just wouldn't have the balls to ride it myself!

Well, first off all this is my bike and i really love it... I asked Bastien to build it and all component were selected carefully.

Saddle: I don't care about the look, this saddled fits perfect and is the most comfortable for me.
Stem: Not the best look i agree but 3T provide the integrated support for my Garmin Edge 1000.
Wheels: Did you ride them?
Rotor group set: I don't like electric component, I ride Acros Age group set on my mountain bike and it's better than XTR Di2 for many reasons. (I also ride XTR di2 on an another bike so I can compare and say why hydro is better that electric)

You like or you don't like the look of the bike, this is your taste and my taste. And FYI I'm not from Rumania :beerchug:

bass wrote:Hi guys,
here is the bike I just assembled for a customer. Olivier loves bikes with a "different" look, this is why we opted for a road disc frame, Bike Ahead Composites wheels, and Rotor Uno Hydraulic derailleurs. The wheels were painted by Olivier from Deco-bike.com to match the frame design. The Pinarello seapost has been modified to save some weight. The result is a "different" bike, I guess this special look won' t please everybody. Personally I love it, rarely I have been so proud of a bike I just assembled.
