Hello WW,

After building and selling about 7 bikes in the last year I have made enough to put together my "dream" build. I have always loved the paint scheme on this Venge and since I ride mostly flat bike paths I think this will be a great bike for me. Groupo will be SRAM Etap which I am super excited to try out and will be finished off with Enve Classic 45 wheels

Enjoy!

The Frame: 2012 S-Works Venge 54cm
Image

Not terrible for an Aero frame, 136 grams more than the S-Works Tarmac

Same Weight as the Tarmac Fork

Pleasantly surprised at the weight of the seatpost

Once I get the bike complete and fitted I'll cut down the fork so there won't be a big ass spacer above.

Thanks!

Been really busy at work but had a chance to make some progress on the Venge

For the Crankset I am using a Specialized FACT 11r 172.5mm with some Rotor Rings I had laying around. I'm gonna try a couple combinations of rings that I have around the garage before I spend some money on a new set

For my wheelset I am going with a used pair of Enve Classics. Not sure if I will like a wheel with some depth to it so I decided not to spend a bunch of money and get something that was already experienced :) I took of the white stickers and put some red ones on.

Decent for an Aero Wheel

Used Turbo tires - Gonna go with S Works after I wear these out

Tube - Gonna go with something lighter when I put the S Works on

Great build so far! The colors of the wheel stickers and the frame come great together!

I read red stickers and thought oh nooo, but they look brilliant.
Looking forward to seeing the rest of your build.

I've always like the looks of the early Venges. I can't recall that paint scheme. It looks great. I would even say that red bartape could look good with a white/red saddle, but black would be the obvious/safe choice

I'm glad you like them, I was on the fence about the red.

Yeah I was on the fence about the red as well but my main motivation was to do something at least alittle different. It's a pretty "safe" and standard build so I thought the red would give it some slight uniqueness.

A red saddle and red tape is definitely in my plans for the future. The specialized power saddle has gotten glowing reviews so I got the expert version in black to see how my but likes it and if it agrees with it I will upgrade to the Pro version which comes in red.

Thanks for the nice comments!

You will love those wheels, no doubt. The enve classics are fantastic in every way. That frame deserves some mid or deep dish carbon wheels anyway. I think it could look a bit off with low profile alum. options. Enjoying the build!

Hey guys and gals I'm back after a busy two weeks.

Put the rear wheel on with the white stickers. I think both look good but I'm glad I went with the red.

You are not gonna use that 117gr innertube, aren't you? Should be a very nice ride when all done

haha I am for the first few hundred miles. I want to get a feel for the bike before I put the expensive S-Works Turbo Rubber and S-Works tubes on.
