I was always a fan of made in Europe cycling goods. In my mind manufacturers like Colnago, Cipollini, Basso, Bottechia, Time etc. have something special. Beautiful design, pro cycling heritage, manufacturing quality. Amongst them, Time was definitely the most exclusive one.

Lyon, was the world capital of silk-weaving for many many years.

This tradition is somehow followed by Time that establishes its production at Vaulx-Milieu, just outside Lyon.

For many riders a frame is just a frame. Made in Italy, China, France, Japan, Taiwan, US... everything is the same. For me it is not. IMO "Made in" matters and it matters a lot. The fact that Time makes everything in France (from weaving its own carbon threads to painting its frames, stems and handlebars) is something I admire and respect a lot.

Not only because their products are vastly superior in terms of manufacturing quality but also because of issues related to economy, environment, labor ethics etc. etc.

There was something else as well that made me want a Time. The fact that many experienced riders I respect described Time Skylon as one among the top 3-4 frames money can buy. Stiff, responsive, balanced, light, with a "magic" ride quality.

So, when a friend sold his third Time (a Skylon at my size) in order to buy a tt frame I immediately decided that I had to get it.

I very much agree with this and am really looking forward to the build. I bet this will feel really special when it's built so good luck and I'm sure it will come together well.

I was torn between a Made in Italy Colnago and a Made in France Time - so good choice.

I will use all the components from my Cipollini but the stem and the handlebar will be from Time (monolink carbon stem and ergodrive carbon bars).

Expected weight aprox. 6560gr :D

TIME definitely has something special about it congratulations on the purchase, have you sold your Neri-Sottoli Squadra BOND? Looking forward to this build & how you find the two frames in comparison.

To be honest, I never liked new Time bikes on pictures. But I saw few of them at local bike show and they are beautiful in flesh.

Enjoy it and show us some more pictures when it is bulit up.

Big love for this bike, and I totally agree there is a lot to be said about how the bike is made. If the people making it care then you get a better product.

I got both the Time stem and handlebar for really cheap.

I know that the yellow fluo handlebar does not match anything on the bike. A black or white one would be the best choise.
I could not miss to get it though since the price was really good.

Candidate for paint stripping??

Or, add some yellow fluro bits elsewhere to tie it in.

Yup, I guess paint stripping is the only way...
