I decided to update this as a project to lighten up my 2007 Cannondale SystemSix. Although I've owned a CAAD9, a CAAD10 and two Six13's, this is my first concerted effort to reduce my bike's weight. So, I set a fairly easy target of 6.8kg, but it includes some self-imposed constraints. First, I'm going to keep the Pro Vibe bars, stem and post because I like them. I also plan to keep the wheels (American Classic CR420's) because I got them for free and don't really have the money to buy another set. Update: 6.8kg achieved. Where could I look to cut weight? Here are some thoughts:
Skewers: could drop almost 50g right there. Edit: grabbed some, 30g for 30$
Rim strips: change to Stan's tape for another 20g for about 13$
Conti Supersonic tubes: not sure the wisdom of this one, but could cut another 50g, would be 26$
Hollowgram SISL: around 120g difference from the Sram Force, but also pricey. Edit: bought a set with new rings for 200$, original silver color to match the frame.
Looks like some different bar tape could save me another 40g for about 10$
That's about 280g for 280$ and gets me within striking distance of 6.8kg (+50g). Any other quick/cheap ideas?

The Hollowgram SL cranks and ti skewers have arrived. Still waiting on the Deda tape and Supersonic tubes. I also won a used Sram 1090 cassette. Here's an updated list based on the numbers I have right now, pretty close to my goal but still at least 30g off. Any ideas?

I've generally been told to keep 10cm of seatpost inside the frame... But it sounds like you're under that already. Try veloplugs for rim tape, IIRC they're lighter than stans. If you've got a band on FD mount, a carbon one can also save 10g over a heavy alloy one, and an EE headset might also shed some more weight.

KCNC C6 brakes won't cost an arm and a leg and will still save you a decent amount of weight (around $1/gram saved).
