ORIGINAL POST:

Just finished this on Friday and took it for its first spin yesterday:

Having enjoyed the Altum I had on review, finding the R version at a good price was enough to sell me on it - especially as I don't know what kind of custom bike I would order at the moment. Thankfully it has all the good handling traits of the more expensive one, without the excess stiffness that I wasn't keen on; and it's a nicer colour. The only downside is the extra weight, but that's a non-issue for me. Besides which this one is for keeps!

Spec as follows:

Caden carbon clincher wheels
Grand Bois Blue Cerf tyres
eTap mechs and levers
SRAM Red brakes
Rotor 3D+ chainset (52/36 Praxis rings)
Kogel BB
Dura-Ace 9000 SPD-SL pedals
Mcfk post & stem
Zipp Service Course SL SSR bars
SQlab 612 Active Ergowave saddle

Weight is 7.2kg, so can easily go lighter if I wanted to.

It's currently sporting a set of Caden carbon clincher wheels with Grand Bois Blue Cerf tyres, but the wheels are only on review so it'll be wearing something else soon enough (it'll easily drop 200g+ with a set of shallower tubs, which would be the plan).

I might change the cranks and bars at some stage, and it'll probably end up with a set of EE brakes again, but I'm happy with it as it is for now.

CURRENT PICS & SPEC:

Mcfk post
3T Arx II Team stem

Weight is 6.62kg.

How do you like the Grand Bois? Why didn't you get the MCFK bars as well?
Don't take me too seriously. The only person that doesn't hate Froome.

I've run them on and off for quite a while now - they seem to be robust and a respectable weight, and I find 26c to be a nice width.

I may well do - I just couldn't afford to get them at the same time as the post, stem, BB & frameset.

Nice looking bike. Is the stem set at a positive angle? Hard to tell.

7.2? Really?
Mine is 7.0 with an SRM, aluminum wheels and 700x28mm tires?
How much heavier are the painted frames than the nude ones?
