Hi All,

First post, First introduction post,

My Trek Madone history started in 2009 with a 6.9 ssl frame equiped with Chorus 11sp groupset and Deda newton components.
I raced the bike for 2 years and suddenly the bottle cage nut in carbon frame came loose.
Luckly Trek replaced the frame for a new 2012 6-series :-) (after 5 months waiting)
I raced it another year and after that I stoped racing and riding.

Now after 5 years collecting dust in the basement I started to ride again.

Greetings,

When my local dealer asked me the color I preferred, I said the "white/red" one.

So I didn't received exactly what I was expecting, but at the and of the day I am more than happy with this color.
I adore the color!

Until today I haven't seen one in the same color, maybe it was a kind of project one overstock or something like that :noidea:

I have seen your color before, but it is a unique color. I am currently working with my dealer to order a new Madone, which should be fun.

I definitely give you props on the unique build, especially with the Campag group.

Hi,

I have noticed there are cracks in the fork, it is on both sides.

Is this anything to worry about, or is it just the painting?

BR,

If you bought it new take it to the dealer to have it checked out. If an issue they should warranty and if nothing peace of mind.

Those are paint chips at the junction of the dropout and fork. Those aren't covered under warranty, unfortunately. Just take it out and ride the hell out of that bike!

Definitely have it looked at, especially if you bought it new. I'm not seeing paint chips, but a longish crack. The question is whether it's just a crack in the paint or more serious. But still, if it's just the paint, I'd be asking why. Definitely try tapping with a hard coin around the area to see if you can hear any difference between the cracked region and non cracked regions.

That red color is truly beautiful, love the depth in it! Quite lucky to get a paint job like that instead of a "regular" one.

I agree with Calnago though, have it looked at by Trek or someone who specializes in that kind of work.

And hey, after five years it's time to cut the excess steerer tube off. That frame deserves it.
