Here’s the frame, hope to get it built up in the next couple of weeks, full build pics to follow…
I put the headset in yesterday, should start building it in the next week or so.... I agree with you Physeter, a friend of mine got an Altum disc in Summer, it looks great, but it just doesn't do it for me. I just like the traditional looking tubes and lugs and the classic Parlee font logo....
I am pleased with how it has turned out. I did think the wheel logos would be too 'heavy' and thought about getting some black decals (quick photoshop below), but they don't look as bad as i thought so will live with them white for a while.....
Is that Lancashire stone? looks familiar. Black chain looks good too.
Nice one, stunning.
-the matte enve parts dont match the traditional, glossy frame design
-wheelset way too deep, logos too busy, for a bike like that
-shorter stem-> you could turn the levers a bit down (just proposal, probably you like it like that.... )
jasonh - Thanks. I dont quite understand your question about the band colours? I just wanted something subtle and slightly different and I hadn't seen this kind of design before...
kgt - Yeah I did think about no decals... might have to go back to the photoshop on that one
reedplayer - The seatpost and stem were the original matt finish with white Enve logo and I sanded these down so now they show the carbon (like in the frame tubes) and are a kind of satin finish in the 'flesh' which isn't as gloss as the frame you are right, but they are very similar to the rims so I am happy with how they look.
The bars, I agree on the colour and I think the frame doesn't really suit an aero bar and to be honest they are a bit narrow for me at the hoods but they came from another build I had and so will stick with them for a while and see if I get used to them as the flat tops are comfy...
The wheels were chosen as I have always wanted to try out some deeper rims to see if they really are faster on the flats. So this bike has been built for flat fast rides, not for climbing as the wheels alone weighed in at 1750g - I also like the aggressive look of the deep rim..
Stem wise this will stay as this setup is perfect for me.
