Not that bad!

Hi Ryan, I'm not quite sure if I follow your logic here. Are you suggesting your seat stay broke because of a manufacturing issue?
Because even if your frame was in perfect condition before you hit that pothole, that incident cause your frame failure. By that logic, you could claim warranty replacement on the spokes, tube and tires as well.
I've seen similar cases before, and best they got is a crash replacement.
But I'm glad you're ok after that terrific incident!

not the first time I've heard about issues warranties recently with Cervelo ...
a shame
scratch, blemishes like that happen especially on the chainstays even if you're carefull , these are not saloon bikes
what they wouldn't tell to avoid sending a new frame
have it repaired and ride or sold it ?
It should be stronger than ever but I would understand if you don't want to deal with it anymore

Have it sanded or do it yourself and see if this is a manufacturing void in the laminate ?
I would have sold the frame new I received under warranty aftet the brakes fall off episode personnaly
I had an issue back in the days with cracking circles on a BH G5 , the bike shop was useless , so I contact them myself and it went faster ...
New frame was sold the day it arrives ...
I understand the implication and details you put in that build and wanted to go along tough

Having it repaired would be my choice. Its pretty damn impressive what they can do.romanmoser wrote: ↑Tue Oct 09, 2018 4:47 pmnot the first time I've heard about issues warranties recently with Cervelo ...

It would be way cheaper than a crash replacement.
While I totally understand your frustration, any pothole which you meet at an angle (if I understand, on a corner, right?) where the impact is strong enough to blow your tire AND spokes in your wheel, couldlead to chainstay destruction, especially if you're a bigger rider.
I'd imagine that in the broken place, there should be continuous fibres running from BB are to dropout area, therefore a manufacturing defect is even less likely. Side impacts on carbon can lead to interesting results, just as I myself saw this summer when crashing - both fork blades broke on my bike while the front wheel actually survived without any major damage.
