I was somewhat disappointed when the Field wasn't among the "incoming" bikes, glad you fixed it. Can't wait to see where you're going with the paint on both of your new rides.

Can you recall how the C40 rides versus, say, the Argonaut? (I had a C40 years ago, sold it. Should've kept it – won the first crit I ever did on that frame :D)

Custom vs. off the shelf - are custom bikes really worth the extra expense? Do they ride 'better', and if so how?

My cent worth - both are great, you get custom bikes really for custom fit as well as something unique....

One can get an off the shelf suit and alter it to fit perfectly and it will function perfectly...

however you can never for eg. tear the suit apart and make it really yours

the custom bike is like the custom suit i guess - you want your custom monogramed lining....

Custom bikes ride very comfortably (very possibly due to certain geometry ticks (which may translate to faster for some as one can stay on the saddle or a certain position longer). however i don't own a custom bike that rode faster than say my Madone or Factor

you can get a custom made Pagani or bugatti, however can you push it like a 911 GTR3 around a race track?

Having said all that.... building back a bike I enjoyed riding so much just a couple of years ago...
