You have the same thoughts as me, My bike is still not ready and I have lots of idea's in my head.
Those bars look great, well done

Ok - so in the Summer - one of the rides I do every week is a minimum 200/300km ride through the mountains on what's known as the Sea To Sky Highway. I don't know why, but - nearly every single time I ride it - I find a baseball cap on the highway. Almost always in like brand new condition.
I guess... they fly off peoples heads when the windows are down? I have no idea. So as a hobby - I always stop and take them home with me. Wash them, and add them to my collection. If they're dirty - i just leave them on the highway. I only take ones that look like new. Here's what I found up until my last ride there of the year:
When the weather was starting to turn, and I knew it would be my last ride up there for the year - I didn't find a hat - I found a keychain :

Lots!!
I forget the exact amount however I used Uni directional carbon which measures .1mm thick and the dropouts are 8mm thick. 70-80 layers approx!
To be honest I may have overdone it a touch but id rather be safe than sorry. I tested am offcut and could literally hang off it. Ive pulled a few wheelies making sure all my weight went directly through the dropouts, it passed that test just fine. I'll maybe post a video one day pulling a wheelie clipped in

Maybe not a full 90 between each layer, it was bloody laborious though!
Even more so having to cut each piece by hand with a template.
You've no idea the excitement once I cracked the mould open after it had cured

Both the new Cervelo P5X and the Diamondback Andean have an aerodynamic frame configuration for the front wheel. If one wanted to add this feature to a Y-Foil using a Paraplast or a water soluble paster for the mould (leave the bottom open and wash out the mould material after forming the carbon fiber. then close the bottom), how many layers of CF might this require? This would be a non-structural addition. Also, how much weight might such an item add in your estimation?
