Stripped raw CAAD10 build

Hi all, my first road bike, and also bike build.

Bought a custom painted caad10 frameset for lagrange club off ebay and then stripped the paint off using walnut shell blasting, and got the fork painted matte black

Still not decided what I really want to do with the build. Getting a custom paint job is a bit pricey, might polish the aluminium down a bit, or maybe try to get friends to draw on it

Have a 6800 groupset to put on, and ordered soul 3.0 wheels

Sharpie CAAD

Decided to go the art route for now, and then after the sharpie fades (a year maybe?), i'll polish it up. Getting friends to draw stuff on it, anybody here have any cool ideas as well?

What product or paint stripper did you use?

Interested to see how the sharpie art goes. I think I would ride it that way for the summer and then go for the polish this winter.

He didn't use paint stripper. That is why I suspect polishing it will be very time consuming.

Polishing is always time consuming, depending on what kind of finish you'd like. But yeah, I didn't use paint stripper, went with walnut shell blasting, leaves a coarse finish on the aluminium. Wet sanding with 500 grit, and then 800 grit should give a pretty decent shine on the bike. There is already a pretty good shine in the sun, I think a mirror finish would be blinding to other riders

Saddle and pedals haven't arrived, might need a setback post as well and to drop the stem a bit too. Haven't weighed it properly yet
