Nothing out of the ordinary but it's a dutiful race bike that does the job well - and this one is mine. So it's more awesome.

I've been very pleased with the bike so far. The frame is much more forgiving than I was prepared for. It's a race bike - so it lets you know when you're going over rough tarmac - but it's quite comfortable on good rubber and good roads. Overall, the bike just does everything very well so far and I'm quite pleased. I live in an area with a lot of climbing but my style prefers faster speeds on flats and rollers so I decided to go with a bike that suits my strengths. Over time, I've come to the conclusion that any bike that's stiff enough will climb as good as the engine. This is no exception.

Minus the weight of the tubular setup (891g + 1182g + 75 for skewers = 2148g):

Should net me a result of right at 6.8kg. I'll confirm with a scale shot as soon as I can!

I've done a couple circuit races with it so far and the bike does great. Looking forward to trying my hand off the front of some road races in the coming months :)

I own an sl4 and I share your comments on the bikes. Nice looking purposeful ride, I imagine it will go like a bat out of hell with those 404's. Enjoy.

The SL4 remains one of the best bikes I've ridden. Some bikes from Specialized don't get a lot of credit on boards like these and I'll be the first to admit the bikes aren't the most unique... but their performance has a lot to do with why you see so many of them.

I've been curious about the polymer coated DA cables so I decided to give them a go. I've been kicking around the idea of changing groups so I figured might as well throw a hail mary and see if I fall in love all over again. Last night I threw on some new hoods, SP41 housing, and polymer shift cables... I can't say that the shifting effort feels any different in the stand. Fack.

Let's hope it feels better on the road..

Very nice. I am parting out my Cervelo S2, to build a 2015 SW Venge myself. It should be very similar to yours as we have similar parts. I'm surprised you didn't go with SW cranks, w/Quarq. It would have certainly saved a decent amount of weight. I'm hoping to have mine close to the weight of my current S2.

I got a good price on this Quarq and it matches. Now I'm looking at a different group though so who knows - the PM may change.

I have the Aerofly bars on my Allez. They are really nice. I like them a lot. I was on the fence about buying another set, but I am just going to use my Vukasprints from my Cervelo build. I just started the paperwork for my 2015 SW Venge frameset. I can't wait!

Yup. Training with power trumps most other priorities. If you'd like to paypal ~$4k for a Campy SRM I'd be happy to change it out :)
