Not all the weights of all components are on the annotated pic, but I think it's quite a cool at-a-glance look at this project.
Would have preferred DA to Ultegra shifters and same applies to front and rear mechs - but had to draw the line on cost somewhere. Upgrades are possible in the future. I would like AX Lightness calipers.
I rode this frame prior to the final build - with other decent but not perfect componentry. This is one hell of a frame to ride. Acceleration is breath-taking. The ability of the frame to soak up road buzz and worse is like no other bike I've ridden. On smooth blacktop, it floats.
I daren't race it. But will race Bike 2 - an Orbea Orca. This is for high days, holidays, chain ganging and, probably, tbh all other rides bar races and really wet ones. I was sceptical of the hype around Storck. Now I'm not. Pedals not listed as am stewing on a decision between Keo Blades 2 and finally making the long-awaited switch to Speedplay.
Happy to answer any questions folk might have.
It's not a dream dream build, but it's not far short. As soon as the hour goes forward, this will be out of the garage and on the road. Cannot wait.
That was a strange fit. It went into the shell way too easily for my liking. It's bonded in there with a strong Loctite and seems rock solid. But no serious road testing, so still early.
Total weight on the scales is 5.85 KG
On paper it's 5.74, so I am adrift somewhere.
Audiophilitis: I agonised over bars and stem but went with the Storck bars because they are a work of genius and beauty. Gorgeous shape with a very very gentle sweep back laterally and brilliantly engineered - the cable routing groove has a gentle twist in it to get cables round the bend smoothly.
The AICAN is better than Nokon because each module has a liner built in, making fine adjustments to length much easier.

On the photos - yeah, I shot these in a home studio set up and they are a little other worldly. I will try to shoot the bike again in the real world and post some pics.
I just picked up a set of mint condition AX Lightness Perseus brakes on e-bay and they are going onto the build in place of the Dura Ace calipers. Takes a good 100g of the weight. Whether they will actually stop me is again a subject for a future post.
Also glue or tape, glue is 20gm, tape is 30 per wheel
Running the AX leaf saddle myself, find it works better for me angled up slightly, used to ride my Arione 00 perfectly level.
I find it a bit slippery, so angling it up a bit stops me sliding forward. Good width if your used to a 143mm saddle.
