Hey Guys,

You can't say weightweenies doesn't get some cool scoops...

Introducing to you bike-nerds, the first Olympia 849 in North America.
MSRP will be $3,495 and will be officially launched at Interbike.

We ripped the metal bits off and she weighed in at 830-ish grams in a size Large.

So, I would estimate sub-800 for a size small, which is great considering the Italian reputation for weight statements.

First ride was super positive - good stiffness, but really surprising smoothness and a calming ride quality.
Let me know if you have any questions, but deets are:
- Tapered front end
- Full internal cabling for electric or mechanical
- PFBB86 with alloy sleeve
- Full carbon dropouts
- Sweet "Otto 4 Nove" icon on top tube
- Matte clear coat for maximum weight savings

This build was with Dura Ace 9000, Pro Vibe carbon parts, Fizik Arione R3 and Madfiber tubulars on Vittorias.
Complete weight was 13.5 lbs with Keywin pedals.
Available for October-ish delivery and taking names for pre-orders already.

Sorry for my crappy photography but the professionals will post their own takes in about a month's time!
Feel free to send questions my way as I'm the only (lucky) one riding an 849 right now.

Best,
Mike Yakubowicz

Beautiful bike. Seems like a lot of bikes went the way of boxy downtube and pencil thin stays. Cervelo really started a trend here!

Ok, that's nice. That headtube looks massive...

Thanks dudes!

Next 849 build might be even sweeter.
I might put it out to weightweenies, actually, to choose the parts.

The head tube isn't that big in person actually.
I think she is kinda elegant but I'm biased.

Hey Guys,

Here is the new build that is heading out to Peloton Magazine to test...
- Olympia 849 size L
- Dura Ace 9000
- New Fizik R1 Chameleon bar and R1 stem with matching alloy 27.2 post
- With thousand-gram Xentis 2.5's at 13.1 lbs: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/60110528/Photos/849/IMG_0444.jpg
- With ENVE 65's: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/60110528/Photos/849/IMG_0450.JPG
- Front aero view: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/60110528/Photos/849/IMG_0453.jpg
- Seat-stays are the key to the ride quality: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/60110528/Photos/849/IMG_0445.jpg
- Bulky head-tube hides a tapered full carbon fork: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/60110528/Photos/849/IMG_0446.jpg

I am luck enough to have ridden this tester and my basic thoughts are:
- Super smooth for something so light - very impressive vibration dissipation for a monocoque
- Plenty stiff for something so light - super solid in the headtube and BB for my 175 lbs
- Love the racey Italian geometry - agile and light means quite the scalpel as far as handling
- I'd say it's the closest thing to a Cervelo R5 or Cannondale Evo that Italy has come up with thus far

Oh, and for you Campy guys who will say that Shimano does not belong on an Italian bike, this group is simply a killer setup.
If that's not enough, check out the build with Bora 2 Stealth wheels:

Best,
Mike
