Gents and Ladies,
Please use Metric weights when you are showing off your bike in here. The reason is twofold:
1.) The forum started because of the 6.8 kilo rule that was invented by the UCI. Them being in Switzerland it was easier to use the Metric system for them in stead of the Imperial system.
2.) When everybody uses the same weight system things are getting much and much easier.
Many, many thanks!

Dear Plebeians:
And please write only in French when expounding upon the superlatives of your bike! The reason being that the UCI is located in the French-speaking part of the Switzerland where business is often conducted in French, and we must stay true to the region. Anything less would just be uncivilized!
When everyone uses the same language, along with proper grammar, spelling and punctuation, it makes things vastly easier and more understandable.
Carry on!
P.S. Is it really that hard to divide or multiply by 2.2?

Okay, always a few people that will be taking the p*ss. We need a standard and whenever one is chosen some people will be sad. Let me ask you your own question:
Many thanks.

PSM, I deleted the quote as you wrote a reply. Please think of that in the future. Thanks.
Oh, and I'm not sure what to do with the miles... [insert evil laugh] But on the other hand. Those aren't really needed for uniformity in weights. I know the arguments for uniformity in weights are arbitrary and BS, but we all know that uniformity really brings us together and propels us towards the future.

People from all over the world write in English here as it is the leading and widely accepted global language.
Native languages could be used and question could be asked "is it so hard to use Google translate?"
So why not follow the widely global appreciated and accepted metric system?
People who show off their bike come up with a message .
So why not make up this message so that it is understandable for the bigger part of the world?
PS: Please check the world map for countries who use the metric and imperial system before ignoring the facts.

Thanks PSM.
So Imperial System only in Myanmar(Burma), Liberia and the USA.
But bad news:

and
http://www.mmtimes.com/2011/business/584/biz58401.html
So the USA may be the only country in the world left with using the imperial system.
Remember a former US president say?

I am an English unit speaking chauvinist and yet I agree with the metric rule. Come on plebians !!
Parting jab.
My co-workers are at least 50% foreign born ( to the US) and they easily go back and forth between Imperial and SI units. But as my Taiwanese engineer friend said,
That's the federal highway system here folks.
